William Thomas “Tom” Jackson, Sr., 70, a native of Granville County passed away Thursday August 4, 2016 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham after an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Felix Chesley and Mary Eliza Jackson. He was of the Baptist faith and was a self-employed carpenter most of his life.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Eddie Nutt. Burial will be private.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Marlene B. Jackson of the home, a daughter, Cynthia J. Perez (Alex) of Littleton, a son, Billy Jackson (Khristie) of Rock Hill, S.C., six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters; Josephine Holbrook of Oxford, Ola Simmons of Henderson and Rachel Cottrell of Oxford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa L. Jackson, a brother and seven sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Drive, Suite 101, Durham, N.C, 27704.
