His Life

Mr. Willie Amos Coverson transitioned from his mortal life on November 25, 2014 at the LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. He battled his illness with bravery and dignity. God looked down and saw that he could battle no more and sent his angel to bring him home.

Mr. Willie Amos Coverson joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in the early 60's. He was ordained a deacon in the 1970’s under the leadership of the late Reverend Willie J. Johnson. He was a faithful member of Zion Hill Lodge (PHA) #26, served on the usher board, was a member of the Zion Hill Male Chorus, chairman of the cemetery committee, and attended Sunday school. Above all things he loved the Lord, his church, and his family.

His mission in life was to keep his family together. He loved family reunions and took pride in hosting them. Fishing and gardening were his hobbies of choice. He found great joy in teaching his nephews how to fish, make Brunswick stew, and process pork. He was very fond of his nephews and son-in-laws.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving, caring, strong and devoted wife-Sarah Coverson, two daughters -Carol Coverson-Hill (William) and Elizabeth Coverson-Williams (Daniel), three grandchildren-Brittany Melisa Hill, Anithia Danielle Williams and Willis Marcus Hill one great grandson Dallas Juelz Nasir Hill, four godchildren JeMeshia Robinson, JeMarcus Robinson, Jamari Tucker and Leland Carlos Robinson, four sisters -Laura Sewell (Ector), Mattie Williams(Johnny), Charlie Mae Reese (Willie George) and Louise Dean (Grady), one aunt-Betty Tigner, one sister-in law Bessie Coverson, and a host of nephews and nieces and cousins.
