In Loving Memory of Wille Lee Walker, Jr.

Willie Lee Walker, Jr. known by many nicknames, among friends and family as: Bear, Will, Wilson, dad, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on September 10, 1958 in Los Angeles, California to Willie Lee Walker, Sr. and Jessie Dee Walker (deceased). He accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord as a young adult and attended Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles. He graduated from John C Fremont High School in Los Angeles. Willie continued his education at California State University, Long Beach and graduated from California State University, Los Angeles where he earned his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in music education. Willie was an accomplished trombonist, drummer, violinist, composer, and artist. He was a member of the Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic Orchestra, and a substitute trombonist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. He taught many musicians who have gone on to have successful careers in the music industry. He never turned anyone away who expressed an interest in learning about music and musicianship. He worked for Brinks as an air courier manager for twenty-two years. He later accepted a promotional opportunity as a manager with Via Mat where he was employed until his retirement. Willie spent his free time with his daughter Janessa, whom was his heart. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews and they all loved their Uncle Willie. He was an avid competitive golfer and enjoyed billiards and bowling too. Willie is survived by his daughter Janessa, and her mother Dorothy who are current residents of the state of Texas; his father, Willie Sr., his brothers and sisters: Carolyn, June, Lydia, Eura, Perry, Don, Reggie, Sean and Merriet; also nine nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law; Michael and Terry; two sisters-in-law: Diana and Nicole and a host of many relatives and friends throughout his life. Willie, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on December, 15, 2009. He was loved by us all and will be sorely missed.
