This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Winifred McWilliams, 88, born on November 25, 1923 and passed away on July 8, 2012. We will remember her forever.

The Poem below was written for her memorial service by Carol Laudonio

TIME TO FLY

We saw you suffering in so much pain,

We prayed to GOD to make you well again,

But it was not meant to be, GOD decided to end your pain and set you free.

His angels came on the LORD'S day and took you away.

We did not want to see you go, but knew that GOD had another plan;

He would make you whole and well again.

Our hearts were breaking as we said goodbye, but we knew it was

Time for you to fly.

To this world you said goodbye, to claim GOD'S eternal prize.

We all loved you then and will love you still,

The hole in our hearts can never be filled.

So farewell to our mother and grandmother so dear,

With your love in our hearts we know you will always be near.

Happy Birthday Mom. Happy 91st .  I know that you are always with us, I know that you are always watching because i remember once you told me that once you were gone, you would send me a sign that you are still with us, and you would be our guardian angel. I asked what the sign would be. You said any time you find a penny on the ground or it just appears, that it would be from you.  I constantly find pennies. Love you and miss you RIP.....

Tomorrow it will be 2 years since you left this world to be with God. Linda and I talk about you all the time.  Please know that just because you left this world that you have not been forgotten.  This is the only way we have to remember you, since we cannot go to your final resting place,(because of 2 siblings inconsideration ) with you being in the U.K. and us being here, it makes it hard to go to your grave to put flowers, or any other tributes. We constantly have discussions about you and we laugh a lot. I hope you have finally found the peace that eluded you on this earth. I know that you are playing cards with Dad and the Fred Jr and Fred Sr.  I hope you saw Buff up there, and Terry too.  I miss you all so much and think about you time.   Love you still and forever.

Celebration of Life Service 7/30/2012

November 17, 2013

IN MEMORY OF WINIFRED ANN MCWILLIAMS-    11/25/23-07/08/12

We come here today to celebrate the life of Winifred Ann McWilliams.   An amazing Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.

“Ann” as she was known to her friends was born in the Wales in 1923.    She was the 2nd of 8 children.  She became a nurse and was working as a nurse when she met Raymond McWilliams. They fell in love and were married, during WWII.   As he was a solider, she came to the USA as a war bride, with the first of her children.    Ann and Raymond went on to have a total of 7 children.            They moved to California from Detroit in 1958 with all the children in tow.   Life in California was good to them as they were able to buy their first home in the early 60s.

As time went on and the children grew, relationships fell apart, and they were divorced in  1971. It was about this time that Ann discovered the area where she would spend the last 30 years of her life.  On a visit to her son Eddie, who lived in Parker, Arizona, she went on a side trip to a little town, on the              Colorado River, named Laughlin, and across the river was a sleepy community called Bullhead City.    It was   during this trip that she decided that when she left California she would move to this sleepy community.   In 1982 she moved to this place that she discovered.   While there she worked for various casinos in Laughlin, until she was 72 and was forced to quit working.    To occupy her time, she loved playing bingo at the Riverside, and she loved to garden, and her biggest enjoyment was walking her dog “Buddy” on a daily basis.    She lived in this sleepy community, which she loved until her death in July 2012.

Winifred McWilliams is survived by her 6 children, daughters-Christine, Diane, Linda, and Carol, Sons- Eddie and Timothy.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; her sisters-Audrey and Gwen and Brothers- Herbert and Billy, various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Terry, Sisters-Dorothy and Pamela, Brother-Tommy.

Throughout her life she always worked hard and taught her children the difference between right and wrong, and instilled in them morals and values that are still used in their lives today.  She was religious and prayed on a daily basis.

As we say goodbye to this exceptional human being, we know that she was welcomed with open arms to heaven, and will be with us always.

Thank you for attending our service today.
