Winston Peace Parrott, died Tuesday October 29, 2013 after a period of declining health.

He was born May 28, 1932 in Wilton, NC to Frank Edward Parrott Sr. and Gladys Peace Parrott.  He grew up in the Wilton Community in Granville County.  He graduated from Wilton High School.  He served 2 years in the Army.  Part of his Military Service was spent in Germany.

He retired from the Business Office at John Umstead Hospital in Butner NC.  He was also part time farmer.  After retirement he enjoyed tending his cows, visiting with family and friends.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, particularly enjoyed watching them play sports.

He was a lifelong active member of Banks United Methodist Church.  He served for many years as the greeter and enjoyed sharing his humor with all of the people he met.

There will be a visitation at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor on Thursday October 31st from 7-8:30pm.  A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Friday November 1st at Banks United Methodist Church in Wilton.  Pastor Gina Miller and Reverend Ray Gooch will be officiating.  Following the Internment, a reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Banks United Methodist Church for family and friends. 

Surviving are his wife of 53 years Peggy Tunstall Parrott of the home; Daughter Anna Parrott Swanson (David) of Wilton; Daughter Susan Parrott Ellington (Mark) of Oxford; Brother Frank Edward Parrott Jr. (Ruth) of Wilton; Sister Jennie Sue O’Brian of Durham; Six Grandchildren: Matthew Swanson, Casey Ellington, Leland Swanson, Gracie Ellington, Noah Swanson and Charlie Ellington and best friend Joe Milton.

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Banks United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall Fund, c/o Jean Watkins 3608 Brassfield Rd. Creedmoor, NC 27522. Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor is assisting the Parrott Family.
