A native of Miami, FL., and the daughter of Carolyn Butts Chaney and Carl Jones, Yedda attended Carver High School and the University of Phoenix. She was a dedicated mother and home-maker. Recently, she rededicated her life to Christ at Greater Peace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Willie and Zannie Smith.

Surviving other than her parents are her loving children, Tamia and Anthony Brown; a grandchild, Jordan Jenkins; her step-father, David Chaney; her finance', Daryll Bridges; two siblings, Jeremy Butts and Kimberly Roberts; a loving grandmother, Mary Butts; her nieces, Jasoniah, Jasonique and Kimauri Culpepper and Auzhjinae Perry; aunt and uncle, Shirley Greenlee(Larry) and Marcus Butts; and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
