Her Life
February 1, 2016

Yetty mama, as often called by many was a gifted child with so many admirable qualities. She was intelligent and clever, graduating with a 1st class degree from university. She was generous, selfless, loving, kind, caring and practical. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she would go out of her way and to any length to help anyone in need without asking anything in return. She would sacrifice the little she had so that others could have more. If you needed a confidant, Yetunde was the perfect person to turn to as she was discrete and managed relationships well. She, by the grace of God upon her, life single-handedly took herself to the heights that she reached, even through many difficulty and challenging times. She bore animosity towards no one and dealt with everyone fairly and with good judgement and indeed humour, always beaming with that perculiar infectious laughter. Yetty was an asset in any company that she was in, she was dutiful, conscientious and did her work well to the best of her skills and loved her job. She was a passionate Man U fan and was very involved in the world of football. Her intelligent and analytical skills in running commentaries on football matches and players were really amazing and it was quite a wonder listening to her takes on football.

Yetty had just helped celebrated the wedding of her younger brother, Dr. Lanre Kuju just the day before her passing. At the wedding, she had been happy and vibrant being in the company of her family at such a joyous occasion. Little did we know that we as a family were seeing the last of her. But at least she spent those hours with the people that she loved the most and those that have meant so much to her. She wouldn't have had it any other way. Her favourite slogan was "Family is everything". Perhaps she knew her time was coming up and she made the treacherous journey to Lagos, not minding the stress and toll that it would take on her health. Yetty faced many challenges, particularly with her health, she bore all her troubles with grace and fortitude. She would refuse assistance because she did not wish to place undue burden on anyone. This often meant she suffered alone and in silence. She felt that her problems were for her to bear and not to share yet she delighted in helping others bear their own troubles. "Sista" was one of a kind, a gift of life in a troubled world, a bright and shinning light that brought joy and laughter to life of everyone who ever came in contact with her. There will never be another Yetty. She was unique, magnificent and irreplaceable. We as a family are glad she was one of us, that she graced our lives as a daughter, sister, niece, aunty, cousin and friend. We miss you so so much 'sista' but the value of a life is not measured in the length or duration of its living but what it has accomplished in the little time that the individual was alive. We can say Yetty achieved so much in the little time she was with us and draw consolation from the fact that she now has gone to a place of rest. Wish you were with us longer but God knows best, we bow to the sovereignity of God. Love and miss you 'sista'.
