|Let the memory of Yvonne be with us forever|
Yvonne Yeargin Bourner died suddenly Saturday, August 29th after a long illness. She was a native of Creedmoor, N.C., a graduate of Creedmoor High School and Watts School of Nursing.
She married Rev. Frank E. Bourner in 1958. Upon his graduation from Duke Divinity School, they moved to West Virginia where she began her 38 year career in nursing. Her nursing career was an extension of her great faith. Yvonne was also deeply dedicated to the churches her husband served for 36 years. She was devoted to their two children, Susan Bourner of Chapel Hill and Karen Bourner Gibbons of Raleigh. She enjoyed hosting church groups in the parsonage and always welcomed children and youth for an evening of good fun. Her love for their three grandchildren, Elizabeth Moss Madigan, Grace Bourner Gibbons and Sarah Yeargin Gibbons and immediate family and close family friends exceed poet words.
Upon retirement she and Frank returned to Creedmoor, N.C. They lived in the old 1851 family home until they pooled their energy and minds to become general contractors and built their new house also in Creedmoor.
She often said “it has been a very good journey.” The journey continues in a heavenly place her Lord prepared for her.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Creedmoor United Methodist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the Church.

"From Auckland New Zealand and across the miles we send our sympathy to your family Frank, Susan and Karen on the loss of Yvonne .
Chris remembers Yvonne on the church caravans supporting everyone and giving Chris some assistance and advice in reconstructing outhouses in the wilds of Appalachia. Almost always warm and friendly and occasionally stern when needed she was the substitute mother for a group of at times unruly youth.
Many years have passed and while our memories have dimmed our affection for the Bourners has not. Yvonne and Frank developed a real sense of community around a church that was much more than a place of worship, bringing together all ages to enrich each other’s lives.
Thankyou Yvonne for your time, your charity and your example to others.
Ngaire, Peter, Chris, Richard and Andrew Vincent .."
"Heartfelt sorrow... Hayden and Theresa"
"Dear Frank and family, My loving thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I will never forget the Thanksgiving we spent with your family and the Blairs. We make Senator Russel's Sweet potato pie every holiday. Take care. We all love you in Glen Dale."
"Hello Frank and family. Jean and I offer our condolences for the loss of your wife and mother to your daughters. I always looked forward to talking with Yvonne whenever I saw her. She was like a breath of fresh air. I will miss her and her kind remarks and her smiling face. We know that she is now in God's presence and hopefully that will comfort your family through your time of grief. In his grip.
Respectfully, Steve & Jean Henderson"
