It is with great pride and gratitude that we share this heartfelt tribute to our most loving, kind-hearted, caring, humble, and self-sacrificing Mother, Roberta Urquidez. Our beloved Mother lived her life in the moment and to the fullest. She devoted her time to her husband, children and to those in need. She loved people, particularly the elderly and children. She taught her children how to love, be responsible and accountable for our actions, to be grateful for the things bestowed upon us, and the importance of giving to others less fortunate. She expressed regularly her love for her family and her pride in all of her children. Life is the sum of our choices…this is what she taught us. It is through the example set by our Mother that we carefully consider the choices we make as adults, parents, and working professionals; knowing that we have the power, authority, and obligation to positively affect and influence the lives of our children and others through our choices and characteristics. Our blessed Mother loved the Lord and her strong and devoted faith carried her through all of life’s trials and tribulations - although she never “sweat the small stuff.” To know her was to love and adore her! She lived the last few years of her life with grace, optimism, and enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Our dear Mother’s strong and ethical character has made each one of us better human beings and for this we are eternally grateful and proud to carry on her mission of self-sacrificing love and devotion to the lives we touch each and every day. We miss her dearly, but know she is with our heavenly father in peace and without pain or suffering. Her spirit will forever live on within us. In loving memory, The Husband and Children of Roberta Urquidez
Known to most as Carol and to her husband "Tom as his Yellow Rose of Texas" is a fiercely intelligent, caring and generous person who will be remembered for her skills at bridge, her talent for gardening, and her unwavering love for her two sons, two grandsons and granddaughter as well as her great granddaughter and great grandson. Carol merged with the infinite on February 12, 2014 and will be missed by those whose lives she has touched.
Judy encouraged hundreds of students to read, explore new fields, and to expand their horizons. In addition to giving her time, searching for just the right book to encourage a student to read, she also provided endless dozens of cookies and snacks after tennis practice and many meals to her students involved in all these activities.
David was always helping someone. He was loved at work and by all kinds of people. He had an outstanding sense of humor and he was so very smart. And yet he enjoyed the simple things in life, like fishing, hunting or going to get an ice cream cone. He and his wife would ride his motorcycle and get an ice cream before going home. “I love him and I miss him and he is always going to be my Pizza Man,” -Cindy Summitt
One of the most valuable memories of this wonderful woman of God is her faith and her integrity. As a widow with 13 children she persevered, she was blessed for she also blessed many others. She exemplified this in all facets of her life, this included family and friends as well as members of the community. This impacted us her family to always be of service to others which played a crucial role in all of us as we are passing this on to our children. “Love one another as I have loved you.” Her family consists of five generations. Carmen’s home was a haven for many. She is remembered for a caring heart offering support without casting judgment, good listener and her playful mannerism with all her children. A heart filled with much love. We were blessed with her long life of 94 years. Mom you continue to live in our hearts and in the hearts of many others. Gone but never forgotten. -Her family
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
My mother was a very special lady, always there for her children/grandchildren/great grandchildren not matter the need or time of day she never complained. She made sure we always had a homemade meal and clean clothes to wear. My mom was always constant and a strong person, she would get so sick and then bounce back; it’s very hard to believe she is gone. I personally am very grateful to my sister Irma for taking such good care of her and allowing us to enjoy her for a longer time. We love and miss you mom!!
Lavell was a hard worker and intelligent clear to the end. He could do math problems in his head faster than his son could with a slide rule! He was a soldier in the WWII Vet Infantry in France. He played the harmonica, loved to garden: farm boy at heart, and loved being a temple worker. He owned the Corner Market in Safford for 13 years. Tended the boilers in the copper smelter at San Manuel, AZ. Farmed and ranched for several years at the 7-B Ranch.
Lamell loved family and life. In high school as a Safford Bulldog he was known for his good looks and athletic abilities. Wilford “Whizzer” White of Mesa and football player for the Chicago Bears said, “Lamell John was the best all-around athlete he had ever seen.” He turned down a career in football and even an opportunity to try out for the US Olympics for a life as a rancher and father.
Edd was a very kind and caring person. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He blessed the lives of many individuals; especially the youth helping them achieve their individual goals. He will be remembered and loved by many that he touched during his lifetime, especially his immediate family members.
