Family portrait

December 27, 2012
This is the only family portrait we had taken after the babies were born & before Aaron died. Before our lives fell apart. Aaron had asore muscle i!!!n his back that day. Youcan't see it, but I was rubbing his back when this was taken-partly the reason for his big smile

Aaron's urn

June 30, 2012
I saw this beautiful keepsake urn when I went to the funeral home to make the arrangements for his cremation. It's made of brass with a metallic blue finish. It reminded me of Aaron's computer. I thought about buying it, but didn't. I mentioned it to my sister, Amy, & a few weeks later, she made the trip into Tucson & bought it for me--so thoughtful of her! I had it engraved with a line from a beautiful poem by e e cummings that expresses how I feel-he will always be in my heart. I'll fill it when we're ready to spread his ashes & will leave it to Zoe somedat when I've gone to be wirh Aaron. 12.26.12: I did fill the urn with some of Aaron ashes before we spread the rest of him in the mountains near his home. I'm holding the urn in my hands in this photo.

Shoes

October 3, 2011
Aaron took this photo one day when Zoe was at his apartment when she was 2. Zoe lined her shoes up next to Aaron's & said, "Zoe's shoes are little and Daddy's shoes are big!". Little girls always look up to their Daddy! Aaron thought this was so sweet & funny!

Christmas 2010

August 29, 2011
I love this beautiful photo of my children, Rachel & Aaron, with their cousins Hannah & Sarah. It was taken at my house on Christmas day. This was our first Christmas with Aaron since 2005. He had been in the Army, stationed in Germany & in Iraq the four previous years. How sad that it would be our last Christmas with him. This is also the last photo taken of my children together, making it even more special to me. Christmas will never be the same without you, Aaron!

Aaron is still my inspiration....

August 24, 2011

You were my best friend. I remember a few things bro. I remember Savers shopping sprees lol. I remember falling off mountains at 3 in the morning.I remember the club we visited together many times. Probly more than we should have. I remember the dumpster fight at M.E.P.S. and the scar it left on ur tat that i was supposed to fix..but what i remember clearest and the story i think of when i think of u brother is basic training. We were at Ft. Sill Oklahoma waiting to get off the bus and get wolfpacked by the drill instructors. Both of us just as nervous as the other. I remember getting into our respective bunks that first night. The lights when out and I said "Hey Aaron" and you cut me off and said "We will be alright bro. Weve got this" and I said "Ok. Night bro." and u said something that has stuck with me since. You said "We have been down that road bro. We know where it goes. It only leads to death. We can do this. I got ur back. Now let me sleep" lol I'm sorry I wasnt there for u more and Im sorry I screwed up a few times and Im sorry I didnt always have your back but I love you bro. Im gonna miss you and this hurt is gonna stay with me for a long time. It will be the  reminder I will have forever of a good man,a good husband, a good father, a good son and brother,  a good friend, and one hell of a U.S. Soldier. Your memory and words will be with me forever and in my heart. If it wasnt for you I would have taken a dark road and I might not be here. I will always remember the program words you said to me many times. "There but for the grace of God go I" Hooah brother.

Fishing at the Black River

July 3, 2011

Aaron loved to fish and he went with me (dad), Doug Wilford and his son, Chad to the Black River.  We tore it apart!  Aaron said he never caught so many fish at one time.  He caught over 40 fish that weekend.  It was one of his and my best weekends ever!  I'm going to really miss that.....

Futon

July 1, 2011

Zach and Aaron were resting after putting this futon together. They were best friends and enjoyed being together so much no matter what they were doing.
