About Aaron

February 24, 2021
Aaron Toftdahl, born Sept 23, 1970, the eldest son of Bill and Lynda Toftdahl and older brother to Dustin Toftdahl passed away in his home on the 13th of February 2021.  Aaron was loved so much by his family and friends and Aaron returned that love to his family and friends with more love and devotion than was given to him.

Aaron was born in Seattle and moved to the “country” just outside of Snohomish in 1979 with his family.  Here he enjoyed playing outside in the woods building forts and playing in the dirt as a kid.  He had the greatest times riding his motorcycle with his brother and his neighbor friends.

Aaron loved playing football for the Snohomish Panthers where he was the starting nose guard – a position he loved.  As an adult Aaron continued to love the outdoors and was truly the happiest being with his friends and family while fishing, hunting or camping.  Some of his favorite places were in Eastern Washington around Brewster and in Blues Mountains of Eastern Oregon up at Moon Meadows where he hunted for elk in a place where the Toftdahl’s have been going for over 70 years.

Aaron also loved to travel, especially to warm places where was most happy.  He had amazing stories of going places to go “Jeeping” in his old Willy’s jeep and going to the desert in the southwest to ride his quad.  Aaron also had such great times and stories from traveling to places like Hawaii with his Mom, Dad and brother and also to Costa Rica with his friend and business partner Kurt Merrifield and his wife Viviana Merrifield.  Aaron also had some great times on some cruises, enjoying places like Jamaica and Mexico. One of Aaron’s last trips was with his Mom and Dad where they all went to France together and got to see Normandy and then later Paris.  He was so happy to share in his Mom’s dream of going to Paris and his Dad’s desire to see and honor those who fought in Normandy.

Aaron was a talented machinist who loved to create things.  This passion led him to work in machine shops in the Puget Sound area and then eventually to start a business partnership in 2012 running his own machine shop, a shop they named Northwest Machine Werks in Arlington Washington.  Aaron loved to say that he was flexible with his time and could take time off whenever he wanted as he was the “owner.”

Aaron’s immediate family will miss him dearly. We, as all who knew him, will miss his smile, his generous personality and his explosive laugh.

Aaron is survived by his mother and father, Bill and Lynda Toftdahl, his brother Dustin Toftdahl, his sister-in-law Rachel Toftdahl and his niece, who he loved so much, Sofie Toftdahl.  All loved him so very much and miss him terribly.

At this time, there are no plans for an immediate memorial service. A private family service will be held in the fall.  We ask that you remember what a great person Aaron was and to cherish your memories of him.  In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) or Purrfect Pals in Arlington.
