Colonel AK Bello. We were first Course mates at the Nigerian Defence Academy as members of the 24RC, then friends.

He was a good friend, honest. He spoke from the heart with good intentions, told me what I needed to hear in a way I could hear. Never gossiped behind my back. He was trustworthy. My secrets were safe with him, so also were my vulnerability, fears and weirdness.

Colonel AK Bello was a good soldier, and an even better person. I will always be grateful for the chance to call him my friend. May his memory be blessed forever.
