Maami, your demise was a rude shock to me and my wife, although, for your age, some would say you are ripe, but, you have not fulfilled your promise of backing my set of twins.
I cannot stop thinking about the love you have for us, culminating to our presence during your last minutes, when you wanted to say goodbye, we were all present to say goodbye. I remember your care for me, my siblings and everyone, every child around you was yours, no discriminations whatsoever, you never wanted anyone in your view to suffer.
You taught us to love everyone, with an unconditional love and care for our wives, you respected everyone you came in contact with including your daughters and sons-in-law.
Back in school at far Ekiti, you will call me to learn about my welfare, after visitations from holiday, when going back to school, Iya Kola will buy me garri wekun with ofada rice and ingredients of various types to accompany it.
Peace making was one of your characteristics as anytime you hear about any fight around you, you will surely crave for settlement.
Maami, little did i know that June 15, 2020 will be the last birthday you will celebrate with me.
On the 9th of June, i was called by my elder sister to come home, tears rolled down my chin, i got home and still met you alive, then i prayed for you, you became stable, but, around 2am on 10th June, you answered the call of your creator, i thank God for your life, cos it was well spent, that you saw Jesus Christ before death and I believe we shall see again on the resurrection morning. Good night Maami.
Thanks for all you did for us, for all the sacrifices, for the life you spent with us.
Till we meet again, your memories will always linger forever in my heart.
Adieu Maami!!!
