Letter from Augustin

Dear Friends,

Don’t spend much time in mourning. I see you are feeling sad and the tears just seem to flow unceasingly. I haven’t really left you even though it may seem so. No need to feel distress. Don’t bother yourself with questions, or try to reason why. Life here for me was ended. It came my time to depart. Don’t lose the love I gave you; feed it with your care. Grow it with devotion and spread it everywhere.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard His call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life's been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.

God wants me now, He sets me free.
If you have a word for me, please  drop it here.

Adieu my friends until we meet again to part no more.
A.A.A.

I am not even sure how I stumbled on this page today (several years after you untimely demise) but I believe you (Ageh) led me here to remind me of the true essence of life. A reminder that what matters in life is the legacy you leave behind in terms of how you impacted others. We had several life encounters which I will forever cherish. I am sure you are in a much better place now and hoping that we will follow your example and live the kind of life you lived on earth. We will try our best. Continue to Rest in Power, my brother!

I just remember today is Augustine's birthday and in his honor i wish to share the quote below:
"The only thing that counts is faith, expressing itself through love.
Carry each others burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Ephesians 5:6, 6:2)

God's ways are not our ways and thats the only reason I decided to stop asking why? why? why do the treasured ones always go first?
Augustine had a good heart and all that knew him felt it. All we can do now is thank God for his life, and intercede for him.May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Dear Augustine, your passing away reminds me that life is vanity. My heart trembles when I think of your smiles that will be forever invisible for my 20/20. My eyes grow weak with sorrow as a result of your rapid departure , for my soul is in deep anguish!,, For how long? Only the Almighty knows. For no word can exactly express how your absence is agonizing the people you left behind. RIP.

I got news of Augustine’s death with total shock. It is heart breaking to see a mate die at this tender age. What are the times coming to? What Augustine was to do on earth has abruptly come to an end. May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest in His heavenly Kingdom. My condolence to the widow and the bereaved family.

God has surely added another angel to his increasing flock. Uncle Augustine, the more I hear your name the more I'm in disbelief that you're gone. The remainining months you spent with family and friends left an impressionable mark on me. I could see who you were as a person and now spirit. "Petit frere" is what you called me. Wasn't sure of the intentions but now I know the meaning. RIP

Augustine, words can not describe who you were and how much we cherished you. You were simply a man who could be imitated but never duplicated. You were simple yet firm in action. You did so much for Nkun in particular and Ngwo at large. While we grive your passing, we must equally thank our God for the wonderful time we had while you were with us. May the Almighty accept you.

Abint! You heard me weeping on the phone. I am still weeping. Well, there is not much else I can do. I remember our days in Njikwa: our daring trips to Fun, Oshie Market, the thrashing from the principal when we skipped English to go eat achombo, the adventures, etc. These memories will stay until we meet again. Thanks for all!

"My Man", we fondly called ourselves. Your absence at Indy airport on July 14th made me to question if all was OK. It was not.Your unlimited services to me and many others tell the whole story and shall never be forgotten.Though we grief, God rejoices over a wonderful soul won. He needs your services too. We are sure that you are just in the right place. RIP at the bosom of the Almighty.

Gone are the days we spent together as school mates
hoping for a better day ahead. It was about to start and the lord said no, “this is my time”. It is hard to think that you are gone.
One is even tempted to say that it is not fair
Well, what more can we say? It is the will of God. Augustine, we say good bye.

Augustine, all you have left is precious memories. Loving memories we will never forget. Whenever our son, McFibert, your God son requests for something, and we say no, he will say " I will go to my Uncle Augustine", because you will always give him what he wants. He keeps on asking, when will Uncle Augustine come back. We will remember your generosity, and caring heart.

Augustine, I stare at the couch you used to sit on, hoping you will appear so we could argue as we used to. You don't, and that makes me sad. Nevertheless, thank you for the gift you left us in the form of Neriah. Looking at her brings tears to my eyes, everything about her reminds me of you. She will forever keep the memory of you fresh in my heart. RIP dear brother, I miss you greatly

Souvenir from Cameroon

August 23, 2012

Augustine wanted a souvenir from Cameroon, so I took him to this famous handicraft spot just infront of Alizan Restaurant on Commercial avenue and bought him a North west traditional cap and rafia bag - "Greetings from Cameroon". He was very grateful.
He regretted the fact that the funeral of his mother has brought him to Cameroon earlier than he had planned. His original plan was to visit Cameroon in December 2011 and attend our wedding. He wished me all the best in the preparations and said he was going to pray for me. He made me to know that I still have to had to pay him for all the care he has given my wife. We joked over it and it was all fun.

Death!...Death!.. you are so cruel!
This is Augustine who was so full of life and good cheer, always with this "infectious" smile.
RIP with the Lord my friend and prepare a place for us when the time comes.

2011 Dreamland Restaurant Bamenda

August 23, 2012

Augustine came to Cameroon for the funeral of his dear mother around July/August of 2011 and we met in Bamenda. I offert him a drink at Dreamland Restaurant and we chatted for a while.
