Her Life
December 17, 2015

Adefolake Aderinsola Ogungbade (nee Rosanwo) was born on February 27, 1958 as the fourth of eight children to Dr Phillip Rosanwo and Mrs Grace Rosanwo.

She attended Our Ladies of Apostle Primary and Secondary School and then Federal Government College Odogbolu.
After this she completed her A levels at International School Ibadan.
Her teachers always complimented her for her excellent character and remarkable performance at school saying "you can be proud of her".
Her mother Mrs Grace Rosanwo says: “Whenever I travelled she took care of her siblings and always tried to satisfy everybody's needs. She was everybody's favorite and I was often called
‘Mama Folake’ even though she was not the first-born”.
As a teenager, she was actively involved in the church singing in the choir and became a keen participant of the Girls Auxiliary group and the Lydia young Women's  group at Yaba Baptist Church, Lagos, Nigeria.

She graduated from Texas Southern University in 1982 with a BA in Speech Communications and minor in English after which she returned to Nigeria.
She got married to Dr Gbadebo Ogungbade on February 25 1984 and the marriage was blessed with four children. During this time, she was an active member of New Estate Baptist Church where she was also in the choir and she worked at the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture in Lagos, Nigeria as an Archivist.

She returned to the United States in November 2004 as her children started college and lived in Houston attending Braeswood Assemblies of God Church and Christ Apostolic Church Mercyfield. She worked at Sears and Roebucks and Macy’s as a salesperson and her supervisors and customers always complimented her friendly personality and lovely smile.

She relocated to Dallas in November 2013 to be close to her children and attended Kingdom Light Church in Arlington, Texas.  She was known for her smile, her quiet and gentle presence and her loving and forgiving heart. Her loved ones remember how she always made sure to call on their birthdays and sent cards frequently in her beautiful handwriting.
Her death has come as a deep irreparable loss to all who knew her.
She was everybody's darling. Sleep well our dear Adefolake. You will be forever missed our smiling angel.
