5 Years Since Transition - A Milestone Remembrance.
The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot - Prov 10:17 nkjv
Before any year elapses since Toks transition on August 15 2017, I remember him dearly with mixed feelings - great sense of loss yet with gratitude to God for a life filled with legacy contributions in many spheres.
I will always remember and cherish the camaraderie with Toks. We had so much to DISCUSS, DO and DARE believe God for - in our personal, work and ministry lives. I really miss him - genuine disciple of Christ, committed family man, hard and visionary worker, friend/partner/associate to many.
His legacy is alive - what he did and the family he left behind, particularly Toluwani, Joshua & the generation after them who we keep in our prayers to remain in God's comfort, staying steadfast and finishing well.
By God's grace we shall see Toks again!
EPILOGUE - FAITH & PRAYER:
I have FAITH in God's word being fulfilled on Toks & PRAY that we will remain steadfast to finish well & witness this spectacular RESURRECTION:
"For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died." 1 Thess 4:14 nlt
Woke up and went to work, went about my day without giving room for idleness.
I didn’t want to have the time to sit down and drift into lonely thoughts. I didn’t want to face the reality that 5years have gone by.
My eyes are heavy with tears as i think about it. So many things have happened that you never got to witness.
So many things that I wished you were here for.
Death is cruel. Death leaves an awful silence that can be heard from a distance.
It leaves a hole that gets bigger with time.
I miss you so much, i still don’t have the strength to deal with losing you.
I’ve bottled so much in. So much.
I don’t know if it will ever get easier, I am not sure I even want it to.
I just wish you were here.
I love you Daddy

It was 1975 and the juniors in FGC ilorin were about to get a rude shock. They had always
known senior Toks loved his sleep and all they needed was to ask him for his keys, raid his
locker and go away. But things were about to change, his younger brother came to form 1 and was now the store of the goodies for both of them. Unlike the big brother the younger must be
totally awake to make any sense of the request but to worsen the picture he will then refuse
the request without physically seeing his brother. This made things more difficult as senior
Toks was the senior of all who wanted to raid so his brother was immune from punishment
so Toks and I did this developed a symbiotic relationship which preserved
our goodies from trickster. I loved my brother and I miss him but glad as he had a great
legacy.
Rest in peace my brother
Thank God your seeds have continued to endure.
When I learnt of Joshua's upcoming wedding I was overjoyed.
The Lord will surely preserve your godly heritage, amen.
Continue to sleep on brother until the resurrection morning when we meet to part no more, amen.
Continue to rest in God.
Eventhough we know he left a godly legacy behind and is now in a place of eternal peace & rest, we really still miss him.
Thank God for strengthening & sustaining Toluwani, Joshua, Bola, Moji & other members of the Obayans. God will perfect that which concerns his seed.
GOD IS GOOD... ALL THE TIME.
We miss him dearly and thank God who alone is our comfort. Praying for His grace for the family.
Jesus is mine.
Welcome, eternity;
Jesus is mine.
Welcome, O loved and blest,
Welcome, sweet scenes of rest,
Welcome, my Savior’s breast;
Jesus is mine.
You will be “Forever missed”
Continue to rest
A Phenomenon man who was never intimidated by the success of his
wife. We have learnt from you.
Rest on in the bosom of Jesus.
Joshua A. Popoola and Family
Seconds into minutes and hours.
Hours soon rolled into days
And days into weeks and months.
Alas, months rolled into a year!
The way all flesh goes
Man too rolls
A friend, a partner
Missed for a year.
Adieu, Engr. Toks Obayan.
Remembering today more than other days, the greatness that was Uncle Toks Obayan... surely having a blast at his birthday party in heaven today.
Thank you Jesus that I had the privilege of knowing this Legend.
We love and miss you immensely. We keep holding on to God's promises and believing that no matter how painful not having you here is,he knows best.
Was always full of content & overflowing with purpose.
I prayed and prayed when I heard about the incident, but God had other plans. Plans of good and not of evil which has taken him to the expected end.
Exemplary Life. Extraordinary Man.
May this departure not cripple but strengthen us to go on living cheerful and purposeful lives, just like he did.
God Bless his memory, God bless the remnants...
Though I have not seen you for many years I have vivid recollection of your smile and dimples, Queens English, uncommon Zeal for the Lord and contagious Anointing.
Well done good and faithful Servant. I believe you are wearing your Crown of righteousness and enjoying the warm embrace of the Master.
The Lord who called you Home will surely be a Husband to Aize and Father to Tolu and Josh.
He will fill the void you created in FGBMFI and elsewhere.
I believe your prayer is that those of us who remain continue to fight the good fight till we see the Master and so shall it be in Jesus Name.
You are a source of encouragement to the members of FGBMFI worldwide. Everyone of us has felt the impact of the gospel through the life you live. Sleep on Engr. Toks! Continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord till we meet again.
Toks, a man of many parts
Like the rainbow’s seven colours
Where can one start to describe them?
Which colours can you ignore?
Toks foundation, a close-knit family
Good upbringing by Felix and Mercy Obayan
Siblings and friends in Bola and Moji
Aize, his heartthrob, made his heart glow; add Toluwani and Joshua, he lands on cloud nine
Toks, completely sold out to Jesus the Christ
Passionate with God’s inspired mission for him
God gave him capacity to uniquely build capacity
Not easily tired, always ready to move for God’s work
Toks had a firm church base in Winners Chapel
A calling in Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International
God’s creative, dynamic, and Spirit-led servant, a veritable apostle in the marketplace
Notwithstanding his sound ideas and opinions, yet he was practical, involved hands-on
Toks easily connected with people - friends, colleagues, and acquaintances
How could he keep up with these numerous links?
In Toks, you could trust and rely on
Okeoma has proved this and thus misses him greatly
Toks, always brimmed with ideas in business
Engineer by training, leadership consultant by calling
Widely read and travelled, ever learning, and charting unique paths
Continually created and harnessed networks - clients, associates, and partners
Toks is greatly missed for his warmth, joviality and uncommon dedication to family, friends, and God’s work
Fought a good fight, finished his course, kept the faith
The Lord, the righteous judge laid for him a crown of righteousness as he rests in His bosom
And to all who love His appearing, the same crown awaits on that day

Sir, I still can't imagine that you've actually left behind your Wife and Children, whom you cherish so dearly, to the bossom of the Lord! My consolation is that, "you have fought the good fight of Faith", to rest on with the Lord.
Your legacies will forever be with us, as we miss you dearly.
Good Night Sir!
May God strengthen us all!
Engr Adetokunbo Obayan played a key role in the establishment of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International in Kogi State as a whole and especially in Kogi West and Kogi Central Zones. He was very instrumental in the launching of the earliest chapters.
At the time Kogi State was created in 1991, Toks Obayan as Field Representative, supervised all the chapters in the state before they were split into two zones, Kogi East and Kogi West with Engr Obayan taking charge of Kogi West.
As the work grew rapidly under him, he became a National Director and quickly rose through the ranks in the Fellowship.
In whatever capacity he related to officers and members of the Fellowship, he did the work with zeal, cheefullness and infectious enthusiasm. Always cheerful, energetic and inspirational, he encouraged not just the work of the Fellowship, but also individual members and their families to be well rounded total men and women suitable for the work of the Lord. His passion for the work was exemplary.

I am still unable to come to terms with the reality of your exit Engr Toks. It is difficult to associate your face with death or to imagine your face without a smile. The only man I never met angry even when I had many occasions to work with you, some of the times under intense pressure. You were always able to maintain your composure and keep a smile on your face, even when you had to express disappointment in very rare instances.
I have not cried since I heard the news of your sudden departure because I still cannot make sense of the news. I can't explain how I feel. Honestly, I don't know what to feel. Am I in shock or confused? I don't yet know. I never knew you meant this much to me until now. I have never felt this way about anyone's death. I have always known you to be heaven minded but couldn't imagine that to mean going so soon.
You made the gospel simple to understand and manifested Spiritual gifts with such ease that engendered desire, hope and faith in others. The assurance of your salvation could be heard from the clarity of your message.
Your commitment to the Vision of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International was total and challenged many who came near you. Many may be able to share the Vision, many may even teach the Vision but very few could convey the message of the Vision of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International like Engr Tokunbo Obayan. It may take some time to fill the gap created by your sudden departure.
Only God can fill the void created by your departure and comfort your wife and children and many of us who looked up to you in the pursuit of the Vision of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International.
Adieu Engr Adetokunbo Uchechi Obayan.
Bros T, that's you, with your toothy and welcoming smiles. The news of your transition from this side is still quite tough to take. Our first contact was ages ago when you came to deliver that powerful exhortation from the throne of grace while we were in medical school at Ilorin. You set off that 'fire' in us and we ran with it.
You never changed, as you have continued to do valiantly in HIS vineyard, living a life worthy of emulation. A teacher of teachers, brilliant mind, a man manager and the Lord has helped you excel in business and family even more....So sure you're in full discourse with Baba Jesus the Love of your life now. Rest on, in HIS Bossom
While I am still curious about the cause of death I mourn you deeply and pray for God's overwhelming comfort for your lovely family, brethren, friends and the nation.

Good Night Toks
Truly the light went out because you are no more. I believe that you are resting in the bosom of the Lord in that magnificent city built for beautiful souls like you.
Thank you for showcasing what it truly means to love and serve God; and to be meek. May the good Lord comfort your children and lead them in the path of service to God and mankind, which you have so excellently modelled for them.
