What a monumental loss
**********************
I was shocked when I received the disheartening news of the transition into higher glory of Chief. Adetunji Olowolayemo OKI (aka Apollo).

Chief was so full of life and vigour. He was a beloved and charming person. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, benefactor, adviser, confidant, motivator, role model and so much more to many people. Though I am still battling with the stark reality of his demise, I thank God Almighty for a fulfilled life that was well spent in active service to humanity. To her beloved daughter, Dunni and his other children, I pray for God’s protection and abundant blessings always. May you continue to walk in God's grace, wisdom and favour. Your entire family will continue to remain in our prayers.
Adieu to a great man. Farewell Daddy Apollo.

His Life
May 14, 2021
"Engr".Adetunji Olowolayemo Oki, popularly known as APOLLO was born in the year 1947 into the family of High Chief Lawrence Oki(Obaseki,Oghenado of Ikale land) from Okeraye Quarters Idepe and Mrs Eyinola Oki. High Chief Lawrence.Oki was a reknown community leader with a strong native wisdom for conflict resolution and peace building within the community.
Apollo was the second Son of his father and the last born of his mother. His elder brother Late Mr Akinbobola Oki died in the year 2005.
He had his early life growing up and raised by his grandmother in Ode Irele alongside with his Aunt late Mrs Maloma (Nee Obideyi) and his Uncle late Mr Joseph Olaniyan Durban Obideyi (aka Teacher)
After obtaining his Primary School leaving Certificate in 1960,he was enrolled on Apprenticeship as a Mechanic to acquire technical knowledge of mechanical repairs and fittings. Armed with this skill in Mechanical Repairs, upon completion of his apprenticeship, Sir Apollo was able to build a highly successful and huge customer patronage to his trade. He was able to equally train several young apprentices who also learnt the skills of Mechanical training from him. He was a renown socialite whose popularity cut across the whole of Ikale Land.
A very unique attribute of Apollo was his ability to network his choice of friends which cut across professionals of different strata. You will find his friends amongst politicians, Civil servants, Security Agencies, academia and even the peasant farmers. From a very humble background, he was able to build a reputation for himself as a budding entrepreneur by expanding the scope of his business, engaging in the sales of Generators, Motocycles as well as various mechanical spare parts and other services.
He was a lovely man, blessed with lovely children and wives, though, lost one of his wives,Mrs C.O Oki(Nee Ajimatokin)to the cold hand of death on 9th of April 2012.
He was a devoted Christian and a Member of Methodist Church Okitipupa.
He lived a happy life. He will be surely missed.
