Tunji was in Field House Government College Ibadan 1971 after we just passed out in 1970. He was a humorous and humble student. He was introduced to me by the Head of Room , Tunji Ero-PHILLIPS who later became the Head of House in 1972.
No matter the circumstances he had that disarming smile which won him the admiration of many including his senior boys.
May the Good Lord comfort his wife and children and his siblings particularly Mrs Deola Fajolu who used to play Volleyball with us in 1970.
May your soul continue to rest in the blossom of the Almighty. Amen Adieu!!!

Brother Tunji's memory is forever blessed and his beautiful legacy lives on in the hearts of all those who were privileged to have met him during his purposeful life with us on this side of the great divide. I first met Tunji at RCCG, House of Glory, and I remember his love for the things of God, his selfless services, resourcefulness, kindness, wise counsels and ever constant cheerful disposition with his signature smiles.
Tunji was a rare gem, a gentleman par excellence, a loving husband, father and friend. He will be sorely missed by all those whose paths crossed his while here with us.
May our all sufficient God comfort, protect and provide for his wife, sister Morenike, his beautiful children- Femi, Oyinade and Olamide, and the entire Oyenusi family.
May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace in the bosom of his creator.
Fare thee well Brother Tunji Oyenusi!

Our deepest condolences and love to the Oyenusi family during this difficult time. Tunji's memory will live in our hearts and minds forever. Tunji was man who talked the talk and walked the walk, sharing his wisdom, humor and compassion with those of us blessed to have known him. My dear friend set an example for his family, friends, and community of how to live a purpose-driven life. For over 25 years, his kindness and brotherhood enriched me. Morenike, we are with you and share your loss. Let us find comfort and strength in the knowledge that Tunji's faith in the Lord allows him to truly live on.

Tunji and I met in elementary school days and it has always been a love feast between us, Tunji mii o, Tunde mii o. He is quick to remind though that he is a day older than me. He was born on October 9th and I on October 10th. Tunji mii o, always full of smile, very passionate and loving. I am short of words as the Lord giveth and taketh. Tunji mii has always said the day we die is the day of rest (ojo iku ni ojo isinmi), so I choose to believe that you just went to research it before me. Have a great journey up there my friend, I'm sure we'll meet again. I love you.

Tunji, you left us too soon. However, we cannot quarrel with the decisions of the All-Knowing; rather, we must accept your passing with calm understanding, gratitude and praise for relieving you of your suffering and anguish. Now your wife and children will be blessed with your spiritual guidance in their time of need and emotional succor. For my part, I cannot thank you enough for the enormous care and generosity you fostered on my brother, your father-in-law, who has gone on before you and whom we must presume you have now happily joined in the world of our ancestors. Rest in peace. Orun’re o.

Your memories lives on dearest Uncle T. Your smiles will be sorely missed . Your wealth of wisdom will be missed too. Will never forget the lessons you taught me about parenting American kids as African parent when I first came to America. You shared also about power of music, musical instruments balanced with good education for kids. When the church needed a place of fellowship, you opened up your house for us to fellowship as church, we became family. Will forever cherish those sweet memories and the legacy you left behind . I pray for Gods peace and comfort to encompass every member of your family especially Sis Morenike and the children. Oluwaseun Foluke (Kuteyi)

Whao, what a loss! This is a loss that will take me sometime to come to terms with. Tunji & I were not only classmates in St Jude's School, Ebute Meta, we sat next to each other (sharing the same desk) throughout our stay in the "Entebbe" classes of those days. Without being immodest, Tunji and I were some of the brightest students in those classes then. He was handsome and always smartly dressed even at that early stage of his life. He was also fun to be with. I remember No. 4A, Abule-nla Road, off Apapa Road, Ebute Meta (he & his parents lived there then) where I will sometimes divert to after close of school before going to our own house at No.1, Cemetery Street, Ebute Meta (next door to the present day Head Quarter's Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God though the church was not in existence then at the site). Our closeness continued during our days at Government College Ibadan. Even though we were no longer in the same class in GCI, wherever you saw Tunji then, you could be sure I wasn’t too far away from him (and vice-versa). We were like "5 & 6", always in the company of each other. It was the different jurisdictions in which we had our university education & live our adulthood lives that eventually "separated us". We met and discussed during his last visit to Nigeria. Even though I understand he had been sick before coming, I believed the worst was over but that was not to be.
Uncle Femi & Aunty Deola, I share in your grief. We are mourning together.
May the Lord Almighty console us during this difficult period. May His light continue to shine perpetually on Tunji. May He uphold his wife, children and the entire Oyenusi family until His coming.
Adieu Tunji.

Dearest Tunji
.. too soon to say Goodbye. Too soon to say Goodbye!

Going down Memory Lane, I remember when Kike excitedly brought
you into our lives ..through the Partner(s) at her old Office; across the
road from mine at UACN, Niger House at CMS in Lagos.

I remember the chats back and forth and the Prayers seeking confirmation.
I remember where Kike received one such confirmation that you were ‘the one’ .. under the ministration of Dr and Dr (Mrs) Onuzo; at the ‘Black and White’ Singles Programme, Mainland Hotel Yaba so many years ago.

I remember your PM Wedding in America; such beauty and how dapper you looked. I remember when you, Kike and Femi (as a wee babe) visited us - Dolfin Estate, Lagos at the time. I remember your lovely daughters coming one after the other after Femi. Lately, I remember when my Mum visited you all on Kike’s milestone Birthday.

I remember even more recently when we all shared laughs and lively banter at the Belo’s when you all visited us in the UK – Kike tagged it the ‘London Reunion’.

How were we to know that that would be the last time that we would see you?
How were we to know that you would be gone, too soon to say Goodbye?

Rest in peace as Kike and your Children receive from God, His Peace and His Strength for each new day ..
Amen and Amen

My own dear brother, TJ!

From the very first day we met, when you and Kike came to pick me up at the airport, it was like we had known each other forever! You took me like your sister, and you immediately became my big brother! You were so easy to talk with and we would talk and laugh about any and everything! A family man, loving husband and father, so gentle, so kind, so caring. So difficult to come to terms with the fact that you are no longer with us. Still, I have one consolation and comfort. I know you saw the Lord before you passed on. I am convinced you caught a glimpse of that City and the Heavenly Hosts. At that point, Earth pales away. You ran well and finished strong. I thank the Lord for the gift of you and for the awesome blessing that you were. I will miss hanging out with you, our conversations, exchanging confidences, and your infectious laughter, amongst other things. Rest in peace, my dear brother. May we all meet at the right hand of God, in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Tribute to Tunji Oyenusi
We commiserate with the Oyenusi family for the untimely death of their brother, uncle, husband and father Ade Tunji Oyenusi. It is saddening and unfortunate that despite all the efforts you made by way of ensuring he got the best of medical attention, the jaws of death decided to take his life. We will further advise the Oyenusis to take what has happened as the way God has willed it.
It is true that Tunji is dead, but he left legacies behind. He will always be remembered because of the children he left behind. It now rests on his remaining siblings to make sure his children are given the necessary directives in life.
We pray that God will grant his soul eternal rest.

My dear friend Tunji, it is unbelievable to me that you have left us. I honestly thought you were going to sttick around so that we all could grow old together, you, Kike, Babs and me. You were so full of life, so engaging, a really good friend, father and husband.
The whole family will miss you, your jokes, your charm, your warmth. I don't think I ever saw your kind face without a smile lingering in the background.
I feel so honored to have met you and I will continue to miss you for years to come.
Rest on, my dear friend, in the bosom of the Lord, till we meet to part no more. You have fought the good fight. God bless you, Tunji, Adieu, kind soul.

This is surreal. Tunji was one of the first few people I met when I relocated from the UK back in 1998. He, along with my dear friend Morenike, made me feel very warm and welcome. There was never a dull moment around Tunji. He always had a positive energy and his sense of humor was out of this world. I remember him so well from the different life events; birthdays, baby dedications, and just hanging out at a barbeque on a warm summer day, a quirky grin never far from the surface as he was about to make some wisecrack. We will miss you, Tunji. Rest in Power.

My dear Morenike, I am holding you and the kids, Femi, Oyinade, and Olamide, up in prayers. I pray for your strength, comfort, and peace at this very trying time.

Much love,

Brother Tunji was my friend. He loved God and God surely loved him.
I met him as a beaming bright light servant leader while we both served on the Steward Board at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Baltimore, MD, between 1997 and 2005. Every Sunday morning I could count on Brother Tunji for a word of encouragement, a hug and saying something under his breath that would always keep me alert and laughing out loud and giggling inside. Brother Tunji never missed much, as he observed everything and paid attention to details, including telling me one Sunday morning that I had a run in my hose. I was thankful especially because he wispered it to me with such descretion and sincerity. When I decided to sell my condo I knew exactly who I wanted to list it with because I trusted Bro. Tunji to handle the details and that he certainly did. We both shared a love for encouraging each other and celebrating birthdays. So even after I moved away, I looked forward to receiving an annual phone call or text from Bro. Tunji to wish me Happy Birthday and a month later on his birthday I would either call or send him a text.

Tunji loved the best in life and he loved Sister Morenike and his children and wanted the best for them, thus he was a hardworker who provided for his family. He dreamed big dreams and he accomplished great things in the Kingdom of God while he was here on earth. He loved people and was compassionate toward others. I will miss his presence even though I had not laid eyes on his smiling face since 2005.
To God be the glory for allowing Brother Tunji to cross all of our paths on this side of glory.
Rest in peace Brother Tunji-we will miss you and we look firward to seeing you on the other side.
The Bible says "Blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted."
To Sister Morenike, the children and the host of family members near and far, be comforted and keep holding on to God's unchanging hands. In your weakest moments draw upon the strength of God's love for you and embrace all the care that he will continue to provide for you. I am here for you and only a phone call away.

In love and prayers,

The Spirit of God dwelling in Tunji lit the room. From the twinkle in his eyes and his warm smile, there was no doubt that he knew the risen Jesus in a real and personal way. To the Oyenusi family, the hole that Tunji’s absence leaves behind can only be filled by the grace of God. May he pour his spirit upon you and fill you with the same light that radiated from Tunji. May he reveal himself powerfully and personally to each of you as you wrestle with your pain. You are each loved more than you can even imagine!

TRIBUTE TO MY LATE BROTHER ADETUNJI OLUFEMI OYENUSI.

Dear brother, your untimely death is a big blow to us all. I am yet to come to terms with the fact that you're gone forever. Growing up with you, Adebowale and Adeola was a lot of fun. We all acted like same age group. Learnt a lot growing up from you and Debo. You both gave me confidence in myself for we came from a modest family and I did remember the children of the rich and famous were constantly hanging around both of you. Egbon mi, you taught me how to dress. When Sister Deola left for Scotland, and Debo and you left for the US, I felt abandoned and lonely even though I was already a Law major at Lagos State University. For those years, I was separated from Debo and yourself, you both made sure I never lacked good things. My coming to the US was possible with you and Debo's help. The three of us were so close and look alike that people used to mix us up. My friends call us the 3 Musketeers. Traveling from New Jersey to Maryland by road just to be with you at least twice in a month I did cherish back then.

As I began to reach out for the right words to express my thought about my immediate Senior Brother Adetunji , I remembered the many valued roles he played through out his life.

Adetunji was a family man. He loved his family profoundly. He was a devoted husband/father/Uncle/Brother and a friend

He was a comfort for our folks when they were alive. He was so devoted to them that I felt it was ok to sneak out of the house. I knew they will not miss me so long as he was around. He was very respectful and caring. Adetunji took all of the roles in his life to heart and strove to honor, support, guide and protect his family. He was at his happiest, when he was surrounded by his family- even during those tough times that life has a way of throwing at you. His devotion to God and his family was the foundation of his actions that defined and shaped his life

Adetunji, the friend. He was my a good friend to so many. He could be counted on and depended on always. A Simple guy with an empathetic ear, a shoulder to lean on, companionable silence, a listener and a good fun to be around. My brother, Adetunji was remarkable in many ways. He lived a well meaningful life and touched so many people during his time here with us. A lot of Nigerians became home owners in Maryland, District of Colombia, Virginia bought home thru his help. One incident I will forever hold with me was what his high school mate at Government College Ibadan Late Wale Aboderin (Chairman Punch Newspaper) told me about Adetunji when I got to Nigeria and went to see him, he said Tunji was instrumental largely to most of his success in life. He called him a very brilliant guy when they were in school, always ready to assist and a socialite. He told me his folks loved Tunji so much that he was like a blood brother.

My brother lived a principled life underpinned by a strong sense of right and wrong.. Adetunji was a respected citizen of Nigeria by birth and an American by naturalization. As an Architect and a realtor, he shared his expertise with anyone that would listen. Worked hard and was instrumental in designs of some parks in Maryland. My brother never stopped learning. He led by example and mentored his Nephews and Nieces and his own children in a way that anyone of them can say that he was an inspiration in their lives.

Adetunji s life I find most memorable is the role that spirituality played in his life. My brother lived his God. I remembered going for a Bible leadership training with him and his wife years back in US. He was a true Christian and a Church deacon. He strove always to be the best he could be- family man, entrepreneur, Brother, friend and champion to others.

A week before his demise, we already thought we lost him. Adetunji came back strong, two days later. I remembered the video call I had with him 2 days later. He was up on his sick bed smiling at me. Spoke eloquently on the phone. Was shocked when I received a call from his wife Morenike in the early hours on the 8th of June, 2021 that he's gone to rest.

Egbon mi, Adetunji Olufemi Oyenusi. It is hard to say goodbye, I will just say so-long. The pages of your book will never be closed, just as the pages of Dad and Mom are not close. You were a great loving Brother and a friend. Your passing away to eternity is still difficult for me to handle.

May God grant you eternal rest till we meet again.

Your brother,

Adeniyi Tunde Oyenusi

What a great loss!!! He was a real gentleman whose character was very difficult to come by. During his lifetime, he moved around has if there was no problem in life, always smiling. Minister Oyenusi,

I have tried to come up with the right words to say but i just can't find anything to really describe what it felt to hear of your passing.
All i can say is that i thank God for having met you. That was a grace of God. Your family and yourself made a lot of my lonely times "happy" with simple actions such as inviting me over for one thing or another and making me part of a family. Your quiet, gentle and welcoming nature will be trully missed.

I hope that in some kind of way i showed you that you were really valued. My only regret is that i missed many opportunities to see you, one last time.

I guess God wanted you back "HOME.
May you rest in peace, sir.

Uncle T

It’s still so painful and surreal to accept that you’re gone. Although the hustle and bustle of life have separated us in recent years into my adulthood, I still see you as one of my favorite and closest uncles. I look back fondly at the memories of you during my childhood and adolescent years. Although I was young, I still remember rehearsing to be your ring bearer. I remember the time you took us to the holiday light show in Baltimore, and the very first time I visited the White House in DC. I always looked forward to the annual family gatherings for thanksgiving or christmas, with you, aunty, and my cousins.

You were added pillar of support when times got tough for the family emotionally. I will always remember you as jovial and playful. You were even willing to watch the 90s x-men cartoon with me as a young child and since then I've always looked at you as one of the few adults I could relate to. Deeply devout you even rubbed off on me, teaching me that I could attract anything I wanted through God.

You’re gone now but I can see the great legacy you’ve left in my cousins.
I love and miss you and may you rest in peace.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that my old friend Tunji had passed away. Although many years have past since I last saw him, I have often thought of Tunji and recalled with fondness how he and Kike welcomed us into their wonderful family. Tunji will always remain in my thoughts as a dear friend and a man of character, intelligence, wisdom and good humor. My deepest sympathies and condolences to Kike and all members of Tunji's immediate and extended family and friends. Peace be with you all.

Physicaly absent, ever present.
Morenike as you mourn the transition of your beloved husband, a loving father and a genuine friend; we ask our creator to welcome Tunji home to eternal rest and console, comfort and strengthen you and the family to bear Tunji's Physical absence.

Tunji, though Physicaly absent, you will be ever present to all that were opporturned to cross the path of your earthly sojourn. Indelible are the footprints created in the hearts of friends by your gentle, gregarious demeanor; your heart warming and inviting smile, your essence and your persona.

You have completed your race, go home to your creator, to a deserved eternal rest.

It’s with sadness that I received the news of Broda Tunji demise, only to find find out we were both October born Libras with similar nature.
We met once in person at his residence in Maryland in the company of his brother Babs Oye and was impressed by his humble personality.
I send my condolences to the family and pray that our day of reckoning will be far from his.

We attended the same primary School, Saint Jude's school, Ebute metta, Lagos and went onto Government College Ibadan, you were a year in class ahead of me.
Government College Ibadan brought us closer in 1972 and built-in our friendship over a period of four years.
Never imagined that would be the last time we would be together.
The shocking news of your pass is still difficult for me to comprehend.
I recollect your smiling face, your jokes and always at ease with all and everyone.
Your memory remain in my mind.
Adieu !!!
My brother, friend and a gentleman.
May your soul rest in peace.
