Adeyinka Sonny Aliu Adesoye was born on 5th June,1960 to Alhaji Kasunmu Adeniran Adesoye of Ejemu royal family, Iresi Osun state and Olayemi Victoria Adesoye (née Oladitan) of the great Èssi Èlli ‘S.L Oladitan of Igbajo, Osun state.

He attended Local Government Authority Primary School, Ilesha, he proceeded to Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife for his Secondary School Education, he briefly attended Ilesha Grammar School for his A-level Examinations. He attended Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye where he obtained a degree in Banking and Finance. He proceeded to get his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.


Adeyinka began his career in the banking industry at Union Bank PLC in the year 1986 where he started as a Teller in the Akure Branch. Over the years, he got transferred to different branches across the country as he rose through the ranks, he worked at Akure, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Osogbo and Ile-Ife. He retired as the Business Development Manager/Branch Manager at Union Bank PLC Osogbo in 2014.  He was an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.


Adeyinka was a great sportsman - football and tennis player during his lifetime. He played for Iléṣà Dynamos F.C and Union Bank Football Club Ibadan in his youth. He was a member of various sports club across the country. At the Community level, he was a key member of Iresi Zenith Club and Radiants Club of Ijeshaland


Adeyinka was a loving family man to the core. His faithfulness to the important people in his life could be seen in the way he steadfastly maintained ties with his numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended relatives. Yinka was always an energy force that had the ability to make everyone feel special and loved. He is survived by his wife, Kehinde; his daughter, Olayemi, his siblings and relatives who loved him dearly.
