Song she sang at primary school feis.
"The Rose"
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you its only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give,
And the soul afraid of dyin'
That never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose.

There are not words to describe the loss of your Aisling especially when it comes so unexpectedly. As I try and put the right words together, I do know that she is not alone and with my beloved Patrick. You all are not alone and you are loved and cared for deeply by many. I wish for you, as I find myself doing the same, memories of Aisling to make you smile amongst all of the tears. Wishing I could be there to give you hugs. All my love and heart and more, Emily (Patrick's 'fresh man')Emily Bruckmann

Treasured...
So many memories that have never been revisited and unfortunately now never will. To many things left till tomorrow...
As children we had been warned of "the boogie Man", an evil creature that lived at the top of the road and took wandering children. An invention to keep us from the speeding cars on the busy main road. Majority of the time this was heeded.
One warm summer, sitting on the back of trailer returning from the bog, we must have been between six and eight years old, we spotted some toys had been thrown away. We cried for us to stop, so we could go and look. A lost battle. We sulked the whole way home, as we were scolded for requesting to bring the cast aways back home with us. (no concept of disease).
So Aisling hatched a plan.
She had been brought on a trail through the fields with older brother Darren, once before, so she was sure of a way without having to venture near the "boogie man" junction and road traffic.
The next morning off we went on our little treasure hunt, jumping over gaps, ducking under fences, trotting through and flattening meadow on our way. Aisling always going first, testing the way. Holding the wire, so it would not catch my hair.
We discovered our treasure trove, dolls with missing arms etc. We gathered them up brought them home, washed them and no one was any the wiser.
Aisling has given me so many little adventures and helped so much along the way.
This debt I owe to her, I can never repay.
Lucks penny
Aisling was always a lover of animals, especially horses. When she was young and lived at home in Frenchpark she bought a pony called Hieneken. The man that sold her the pony asked her to get him a lucks penny for good luck. (Thats 10 or 20 euro on top of price for good luck) Aisling went off to get the man his lucks penny but could not find one. So she handed him a 2p coin and siad "here is a two penny cause i cant find a penny'' and went off happy as larry. The man thought she was taking the piss out of him but she wasn't she just thought he ment a good luck penny. Ha ha, good girl Ash.
Aisling
Aisling meaning dream or vision.
A Dream Within A Dream
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
