We will miss you

August 27, 2015

I met Tunji in 1995, he attended my wedding in Lagos, he used to leave in Uyo then and worked in a commercial bank then. As at then himself and Ronke were still courting. We were also neighbors in Urua Ikpa and as my husband and I moved to Ewet, Tunji followed shortly. We used run to and fro our houses and it was also at Urua Ikpa I met Ronke who has become a very good friend and sister today. There are too many memories we shared back then, my two children Daniel and Amanda were born before Tunji and Ronke and many times when he is coming into the house you will hear him hail my husband "my man". My hubby and I will miss you a great deal, however who can question God? Sun re o Tunji!

I met Tunji some years back on one of his visits to the US, he and my twin were colleagues but I never had the chance to meet him before I left the shores of Nigeria. During that visit, I took him out to dinner at a restaurant that one might consider average but what struck me at that time and has stayed with me ever since was one would have thought that I had taken Tunji to the poshest restaurant in town with the way he was so appreciative of the outing and how much he enjoyed the food. To me, that tells a lot about the character of the man and what he values. Every now and then, I will recollect the story to my brother and he will always respond that's Tunji for you... It's the relationship that mattered to him.

Global Supply Chain Network meeting in London, 2014. We took a break to spend time at the horse race grounds. We made couple of bets, but we could only win 3 pounds.
