Albert “Bert” Denham, age 75 of West Deptford, passed away at home on Friday, April 7, 2023. Born September 12, 1947 in Camden, NJ to the late Albert and Genevieve (nee Wich). Bert graduated from West Deptford High School in 1967 and joined the Heavy and General Laborers Union of NJ Local 172 in 1968. He was involved in building many essential roadways, bridges, and overpasses throughout New Jersey. He was part of the construction crew that built the Camden Waterfront Music Pavilion and Riverwinds Community Complex. After 36 years of service, Bert retired and remained a proud member of the Union for over 50 years.

Bert felt most at home outdoors. He could be found hiking through the woods, mastering his bullfrog and turkey call. He was known to rescue and rehome wildlife. He enjoyed gardening, country drives, listening to oldies and ice cream cones. Most of all Bert loved and cherished his children and grandchildren.

Survived by his children, Ronald (Cheryl) of Loxahatchee FL, Danielle (Mark) Loiacano of Spring TX, Christine (Scott) DeFrank of Mullica Hill, Marc Denham of Deptford; grandchildren, Ron, Nicholas, Dominick, Genevieve, Anthony, Nico, Josephine, and Juliana.

He was predeceased by his wife, Cindy (nee Shoemaker), and his two brothers James and Ronald.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Bert’s life on Saturday, April 29 at 2pm at Osteria 545 in Paulsboro.

You will be greatly missed. I enjoyed our phone conversations over the passed months and how you spoke of your children & grandchildren. How proud you were of them. I want to thank you for giving me the greatest gift of my life. You will be forever in my heart.

Dad I love you and miss you. You always made me feel loved and part of this amazing family. I will miss our talks. I will miss how excited you were to talk about Nick and the wonderful young man he has become. Please get together with my Dad and watch over all of us.  I remember how sweet and kind you were. The time you drove so far to Bedminster NJ after Chrissy and Scott's wedding because I had emergency surgery. You brought me flowers and made sure Ron had some spending money because now our long weekend trip was extended just a bit. I love you!
