His Life
May 19, 2014

   One oddity in losing a parent lies in the adjusting experience. Juxtaposing the past, present and future in an imbalanced experience. Dad lived a very imperfect, proud, religious and peaceful life. As his malady dragged on and he became frail, he got more reflective.

    He held on strongly to the teaching of values he wanted understood, Then he gradually relented on teaching as he knew he should. He reflected on the well-being and unity among his children, And granted the utmost aspirations of the grandchildren.

    He was a teacher, classy and deliberate in his interactions. In his deliberateness, we found our blessings. Because like a maestro insisting on a rhythmic and energetic finale, Dad dictated the pace and timing at the end.

    Wanting to walk back into his Douala residence fully aware! Knowing how much longer he needed to stay stateside for treatment! Announcing in advance his departure date back to his homeland! Visiting with family and friends back in Douala over a fortnight period!

    After allowing all the chance, the blessings of praying together; Granting closure for him and all who desired; Dad passed in his home just as he wanted. On a deliberately peaceful Tuesday morning.

For the richness of your Teachings,
For the touches of your Blessings,
Father, May You Rest in Peace!

A life in Servitude of others

May 1, 2014

Write it down, when I have perished:
Here is everything I cherished;
That this walls should glow with beauty
Spurred my lagging soul to duty
That there should be gladness here
Kept me toiling year by year…
Every thought and every act
Were to keep this family intact.
