Dougherty, Alexander J., Sr., age 87, originally from Tacony, Philadelphia, PA, on March 6, 2018, surrounded by family.

Alex was the beloved husband of Esther (née Rosato) for 61 years.  He was the loving and devoted father of 7:  Alex Jr., Beverly, Sharon, Cynthia, Esther, Patricia, and Jane.  Cherished grandfather of 9, and great-grandfather of 2.

Alex will best be remembered for his sense of humor and love of jokes.  He had a keen interest in current events and a vast knowledge of trivia and facts, especially about World War II.

Alex was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles!

Alex took great pride in his US Navy service during the Korean Conflict in the 1950’s.

He was a hard-working provider for his family, and went on to enjoy a lengthy retirement.
