Alexis Marche Kinnell was born on September 24, 1992 in Birmingham, AL to Carla B. Foster and Virgil Kinnell.  She was baptized at an early age and became a member of First Memorial Baptist Church where she served in the Mass Choir.

She attended Hillview Elementary, Bottenfield Middle and graduated from Minor High School in May of 2011.  She sang the National Anthem at her graduation in honor of her receiving the Most Outstanding Choral Student award.  After high school, Alexis received a full scholarship to Miles College to study Music. While attending Miles College, she performed in two choirs – Concert Choir and Inspirational Singers.  In addition, Alexis was selected to play the lead role in the spring musical, Carmen Jones.

After attending Miles College, Alexis was employed by Mercedes, and was more recently employed as a letter carrier by the U.S. Postal Service. Alexis is survived by her husband, Jerrin Austin; son,  Jerrin Austin , Jr.; loving mother, Carla B. Foster; devoted father David L. Foster; brothers, Brandon Foster, Markus Washington (El Paso, TX), Camron Foster and Timothy Foster;  two loving uncles Stacey (Erica) Gillian, Reginald Gillian; aunt Candace Brown (Marvin); niece Alainna Marie Washington; loving grandparents, Joseph and Mary Brooks; two great grandmothers Emma Lindsay and Jeanette Ward and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Alexis was known for her sweet spirit, angelic voice and strong work ethic. She loved God, absolutely adored Jerrin, Jr. and enjoyed spending time with her family.

When I met Alexis she was quite young lady. She always had smile on her face whenever she spoke to me. I got a chance to hear her beautiful voice one day at work. RIP beautiful young lady
