Alfie, words can’t express the pain brought about by fond memories of the past with you and present grief from your departure. You were a best friend to most, if not all your friends. You offered friendship in full. You gave your best to each and every relationship you had, both new and old. The consistency of your character is a true testament to how exceptional you truly were. You saw and believed in the best in us all. Selflessly, you gave your support to see us soar and also reeled us in when we started to deviate. You’re a once in a lifetime kind of friend. Time brought us together, time also took you away. I’m very blessed that our paths intersected and we were able to share a segment of our lives together - a segment that may seem so insignificant in this vast unfathomable infinity but will always be significant for me. I love you, rest well in the arms of God.

I still remember the day we met you back in 2001 at a club. More than the gimmicks, I will always remember how you welcomed us to your home, invited us to family gatherings and just being there in every milestone of our life. Because of you, Dino and I met a lot of people, made connections and saw a whole different world. Thank you for treating us like your family. I will always remember our travels, your brilliant ideas, the answers to my endless questions. It was an honor to be your friend, Alf. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, time and life with us. Until we meet again.

Dear Alfie ,

We have lost touch the past few years but you are always dear to my heart. I remember when you visited me in DC and we had such a great time. Listening to your travels and adventures, you have lived a great life. The phrase "Live life to the fullest , life is too short "certainly applies. I remember that when I used to live in Manila, you and Caren always hang out with me and you always talk fast and you are always excited  Your brain is so fast that the talking can't catch up. Alf , you are one of a kind. Thank you for the moments you have shared with me and it has been a sweet journey.

Hi Sir Alf,

The moment I knew that I am about to talk to you about leaving the company, I hesitated. I cannot even find the right words to say or even the strength to talk you because I knew that if I did, I might change my mind and stay.Simply because I know how great mentor you are. I have experienced great things talking to big persons because of you.Simply, I cannot find the words to say goodbye to you.I just left you a letter with a magazine. For whateve happened, you still sent me cute emojis on IG when you learned about my engagement.I wanted to send you a message that day. I regret that I did not do it to talk to you one last time. You are still my favorite boss. Now I remember you even more. You are still the voice I am hearing at the back of mind whenever I have an urge to cry until now,you told me once,"Huwag kang iiyak, wala namang mangyayari kung iiyak ka" and I know that this is what you will tell us exactly. But I failed you because I cried a lot knowing you are gone now.Forever grateful to you Sir Alf.I will still remember you patting street cats while we are walking down street, how you drive too fast, and the days you laughed with me because you got lost on your way going to our meetings.Rest In Peace Sir Alf.

Thank you Alfonso (aka Royal among his family) for your friendship and generosity. You are the most generous, loving and kindest of all persons I have ever known. You have shown unconditional love and friendship through the years that we have known each other.  The world has lost a loving and good person but Heaven has gained an angel. Please watch over us and continue to call us out when we need help.
