Alfred, who was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 25, 1932, unfortunately left this earth on February 8, 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama at the age of 89 after an extended illness.

Alfred “Al” left behind his wife Mildred “Midge” of 53 years, two children “Lisa” and “Bub” and his sister “Corrine”. Many grandchildren, nephews, and nieces will also miss him dearly.

Al was a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School, an accomplished Urologist, Army Doc, devoted husband, loving father, “Big Daddy”, loyal friend, fan of higher education, and one of the best debaters you could find.

Al was a humble and selfless individual who put others first. He was beloved by his family and always amazed us with his acts of kindness.

We would like to publicly thank Al for his kindness, unending advice, support, and the encouragement he gave us to be our best. Alfred Eugene Turman was a great example of how to be a good human. Thank you for loving us! You will be missed more than you can imagine.

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Alfred Turman, . We will remember him forever.

Let's go for a ride.

I'm amazed at how many  flashbacks have passed through my mind since losing Al.  They are all of fond memories but this one gave me a real "warm and fuzzy".

Al owned a Triumph TR-3 in his earlier life and loved that car.  When I was a young boy growing up in Southern California I remember when Al (with the want add section of paper tucked under his arm) would say to me "Let's go for a ride".  We would spend hours "test driving" the current collection of TR-3's throughout the area.  He never pulled the trigger on one of them but we sure did enjoy the wind in our hair and the joy of just being together.  We shared many smiles and great vibes during those outings

Thanks Al for including me and letting me see true joy in your heart.

Bub
