Alfred Folarin Alabi (A.F) was born on Monday, 5th October 1931 to Pa Benjamin Alabi and Rachael Owoyemi Alabi of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He was the oldest son to the couple.

A.F received his early education at Emmanuel School Ado-Ekiti where he was baptised Alfred in December 1939 by the Late Arch. Deacon Henry Dalhimore, the founder of the popular Christ School at Ado-Ekiti.

A.F proceeded to Igbobi College, Lagos for his secondary education. At Igbobi, he was in Townsend House with student number *723.  A.F was also a sportsman nicknamed the Table Wizard for his prowess in playing Table Tennis. He was confirmed as a full member of the Anglican Church in Igbobi College by Late Dr. Gordon Vining, the first Anglican Arch. Bishop of West Africa.

Upon leaving Igbobi College with the 1952 set,  he worked for sometime in the Social Welfare Division of the Federal Ministry of Labour, where he proceeded to the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne to study Social Science and graduated with B.A Honours in June 1963.

On returning to Nigeria in 1964, he worked for the Social Welfare Division of the Federal Ministry of Labour and later joined the Advertising company of S.H. Benson as a Market Researcher. from there, he was appointed as controller commercial services of the then N.B.C which later became F.R.C.N.

In the line of duty, A.F was posted to the N.B.C London Office c/o B.B.C Bush House as a Sales representative. Upon his return, he was appointed as Director of Training and Manpower Development of F.R.C.N.

A.F was a very intelligent and articulate gentlemen which earned him enormous potential with his employers at F.R.C.N. This also dovetailed into several trainings and conferences such as: a. Nigerian Institute of Management course in Management of resources (1974)
b. B.B.C London Training course in Management resources(1975)
c. American Government sponsorship course in Radio Broadcasting in Syracuse University, New York (1978)
d. Radio and T.V Broadcasting courses in the Gambia (Banjul- 1979) and Czechoslovakia (Now Czech and Slovak Republics - 1980).

After exiting F.R.C.N, He established his Advertising agency and retired fully from there. A.F loved to dance and enjoyed music and could relate to different genres till his 80's.

A.F was a man of means who enjoyed life to the fullest. No dull moment around him, a sanguine to the core, ever smiling, ever caring, ever playful and an amiable and humble gentleman.

A.F has a good family life is survived by his wife Olanike Alabi and children who he was so proud of.

He would be sorely missed.
