Alfred Sojak - August 14, 1941 - May 28, 2023

It is with deep sadness that the family of Alfred Sojak announces his passing on Sunday, May 28th. Alfred was born in Makow-Maz, Poland. Alfred met his wife of 55 years, in Warsaw and they both moved permanently to the United States in 1968. He retired from NJ Transit after 33 years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. 
Alfred was a devoted Catholic and long-standing parishioner of St. Mary of the Lake in Lakewood, NJ. He was a Eucharistic Minister and Alter Server at St. Mary's. He was a long-time member of, Polska Wspolnota Katolicka in Lakewood, NJ. In 2009 he represented the organization as Marshall in the Pulaski Day Parade in New York City.
Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Marian and Felicja Sojak, two sisters, Donata Lojewska and Blandyna Surgal and brother, Kazimierz Sojak. Left to treasure his memory is his beloved wife Zdzislawa Sojak, his son Andrzej Sojak and wife Marcy, daughter Susan Chiriaeva, son Mark Sojak, five grandchildren, Alisha and Michael Sojak, Brittney and Cody Marcum, Alexander (Sasha) Chiriaev, and two great-grandchildren, Mark Barber and Kyler Blyston. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends in both America and Poland.
