Dear Mama,
I miss talkng to you and seeing you every day. I can't believe you have been gone so long! The time we spent together went by like a flash. Please hug my Mama and Daddy in heaven, I miss all of you so much, I carry you in my heart everyday,my heart is overjoyed with memories of all your love.
We little knew that God was going to call your name. In Life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you
lthe day God called you home. You left behind us beauttful memories, your love is stil our guide, and though we cannor see you. You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same but God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Mama is always with you...She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She's the smell of bleach on your freshly laundered socks. She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well.
Mama lives inside your laughter. She's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the
map you will follow with every step you take. She's your first love and your first hearbreak....... and nothing on earth can separate you. Not time. Not space, not
even death will ever seperate you from Mama . You carry her inside of you!
A letter from Heaven
To my Dearest family, Some things I'd like to say. But first of all , to let you know , that I arrived okay . I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above. Here, there is no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just because I am out of sight. Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through. God picked me up and hugged me and He said :
"I welcome you, It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on. I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan. There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do. And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you. And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight. God and I are closest to you....
in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years. Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain. I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned. If I were to tell you , you wouldn't understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over. I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before. There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too; That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you. If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain; Then you can say to God at night....My day was not in vain. And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile. Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile. So
if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low; Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go. When you’re walking down the street and you've got me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind. And when its time for you to go...from that body to be free. Remember you’re not going...you are coming here to me.
Mama Algie Rutlege Harris was born Novemmber 13, 1923 to the late Nelson and Mattie Rutledge. Mama has 2 loving sons who were always by her side, Leonard Rutledge, Detroit Michigan- and Willie Walker of Selma, Alabama.
Mama Algie was nurtured as a christian, at an early age she accepted Jesus Christ at the Perryville Baptist church, she attended the Perrry County Schools.
Mama Algie moved to Selma, Alabama in the late 1960's, she united with the Ebeneezer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frederick D. Reese. She worked faithfully and actively in the Mother's Ministry as a mentor and Sunday School Teacher, she used her musical talent in the Ebeneezer Chorus.
Mama could dress and wear a hat like no other woman. She was loved by so many people, she touched the hearts of the young as well as the elder, I felt as if she was my mother. This lady had so much wisdom, so much pride.
That's Mama.... always wearing a beautiful smile, her words were always inspirational, her sweet spirit would light up a room, she loved her family and friends so much. We are missing an angel, the Lord used her to be his angel, she went away to help us get it together down here. She will live on in our hearts forever, she made one request, "That my family will keep serving the Lord, and to really, really, love one another" her request is being granted by those who really knew her, she was a very Special Ladyl, We love you Mama, forever.
Happy Birthday in Heaven Mama, "Your Family" We Miss You!
