Mrs. Alice Black of Alexander City, Alabama died January 3, 2012
Alice "Zean" Owens-Black was born July 24, 1934 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to the late Mr. Ulysses S. Owens and Ms. Maggie White Owens.
She accepted Christ at a young age and joined Liberty Life christian Center in Alexander City, Alabama.
She worked at Russell Mill as a textile worker for 27 years.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Simmie Lee Black on October 12, 1968.
She departed her earthly life on January 3,2012 at Citizens Baptist Medical Center, Talladega Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Simmie Lee Black, her brother; Mr. John Albert Owens, and her sister, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Owens McAllister.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Marilyn (special friend: Perry) Owens and Elizabeth (special friend: Calvin) Owens of Alexander City, AL, and one son, Steve (Michelle) Black of Wetumpka Alabama. One Brother, Mr. Alton (Francis) Owens of Alexander City, Alabama, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Della Evans of south Haven Michigan. Twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral service for Mrs. Alice Z. Black of Alexander City, Alabama, Monday, January 9, 2012 at Liberty Life Christian Center at 1:00pm.
Burial will follow at Old Friendship Cemetery.
