Alice Rea Ellis House, 74, a longtime resident of Butner, passed away Sunday, February 6th at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
She was a native of Granville County, the widow of Edward Darrell House and the daughter of the late Robert Irvin and Helen Moss Ellis. She was a member of Butner Presbyterian Church, a retired charge attendant at Murdoch Center and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 9th 2011 at Butner Presbyterian Church by Rev. Dave Vellenga, Rev. Bryan Burtram and Rev. Cherrie Henry. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda R. Powers (Roger) of Stem, Judy R. Stem (Larry) of Oxford, two sons, Andy Rutledge (Ginger) of Stem,Wayne Rutledge (Peggy) of Northside, five sisters, Lil Poole of Roxboro, Grey Hudgins of Butner, Frances Wilkins of Stem, Clara Reynolds of Laurel Springs, Patricia Bradsher of Oxford, two brother, J.D. “Jim” Ellis of Cooksville, Tenn., Jack Ellis of Kernsville, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation 7:00-8:30 PM Tuesday evening , February 8th at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
