                              Alice J Lubker

Alice Lubker 79, of West Point died Wednesday April 6, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.

Funeral Services 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Chris Meier officiating. Burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point which is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Alice was born February 18, 1932 in Fremont to Martin and Mabel Ackerman Johnson. She was a 1949 graduate of Fremont High School and a graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Accounting degree from Midland Lutheran College in 1953. On June 7, 1953, Alice married Jim Lubker at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. The couple made their home in West Point.

Alice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, a 50 year member, past president and past treasurer of PEO Chapter EO, Order of Eastern Star, St. Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community and enjoyed playing cards in several different card clubs, some for 50 years. She had been involved in Girls Scouts and 4-H. Alice enjoyed painting, gardening, growing orchids, making stained glass and anything "Elvis." She also loved being with family.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, of West Point, daughters Julie (Ron) Fechner of Omaha, Sandi (Tom) Brune of Fremont, Kathy (Jim) Hladky of West Point, and Lisa Putman of Nickerson, granddaughter Sarah Brune, grandsons Paul (Amy) McHenry, Phil McHenry, Jimmy Brune, Matt Hladky and Eric Hladky. She is preceded in death by her parents and son in law Randy Putman


                             James F Lubker

James (Jim) F. Lubker, 79, of West Point died Monday, May 30, 2011.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Chris Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Jim was born on October 13, 1931 in Fremont to Emma and John Lubker, Jr. He was a 1949 graduate of West Point High School. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He graduated in 1953 from Midland Lutheran College with a degree in business. On June 7, 1953 Jim married Alice Johnson at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont. The couple made their home in West Point.

Jim was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Point where he served on the Church Council. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Farmer’s and Merchant’s National Bank and the Board of Directors of St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Jim also served on the Hospital Foundation Board and the John A. Stahl Library Foundation. He was a member of Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Cuming County Choraliers, West Point Chamber of Commerce, West Point Jaycees, and the United States Naval Reserves.

Jim was a longtime businessman in West Point where he and his brothers owned and operated the Lubker’s, Inc. John Deere and Ford auto dealerships. Jim will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, and love of family.

Jim is survived by daughters Julie and husband Ron Fechner of Omaha, Sandi and husband Tom Brune of Fremont, Kathy and husband Jim Hladky of West Point, and Lisa Putman of Nickerson; granddaughter Sarah Brune of Fremont, grandsons Paul and wife Amy McHenry and Phil McHenry of Omaha, Jimmy Brune of Fremont, and Matt and Eric Hladky of West Point. He is also survived by brothers Dale and wife Janet Lubker and Dean and wife Janice Lubker of West Point, and sister-in-law Lois Lubker of Lyons. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice on April 6, 2011, his parents, brother Rod, and son-in-law Randy Putman.
