Alice Lavelle Phillips, age 54, of Cawood , KY went to be with our Lord August 31,2014 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She entered this life May 12, 1960 to Rev. Richard Stewart of Cawood, KY and the late Wanda Faye Stewart. She was a School bus Driver for the Harlan County Board of Education for 17 years driving for Cawood Elementary School as well as a substitute teacher. She believed in the Pentecostal Faith and was a devoted member of the Pace Chapel Church in Smith, KY.

Besides her father, she is survived by her loving husband, Donald Phillips of Cawood; two sons Joseph Farmer and wife, Tyra, of Cranks and Dustin Farmer and fiancé Sasha Kimbler of Sitka, KY; 6 grandchildren: Lexie, Shaylee, Gabby, Hunter, Lilian, and Kinslee Farmer; 2 stepdaughters, Tara Cox and husband, John, of Rosspoint, KY and Destiny Perkins of Baxter, KY; 2 step grandchildren, John and Tommy Cox; 2 brothers, Rev. Alben Stewart and wife, Imogene, Harlan, KY and Rev. Richard L. Stewart and wife, Helen, of Cawood; 5 sisters: Rita Swanson and husband, Franklin, of Pansy, KY, Carol Grubbs and husband, James, of Bobs Creek, Elisa Miracle and husband, Kelly, of New Tazewell, TN, Tina Brock and husband, Rocky, of Cumberland Gap, TN, and Mary Ann Noe and husband, Curtis, of Cawood, KY; special cousin, Deann Wilcox and a host of friends, family, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 3 from 4PM to 9PM at Pace Chapel Church, Smith, KY. Funeral will be Thursday, September 4 at 12PM also at the Pace Chapel Church with Rev. Jeff Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery, Little Creek, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
