Dear Christine and family,
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all of you in the loss of one heck of a man in Buddy.
I feel a light bulb has been extinguished within OUMC and the Oxford Community! Due to illness of my own, I regretted not being able to come to his funeral! I had been following Buddy’s illness through Church! I know Buddy loves God and is dancing in Jesus arms!
Buddy and I were friends for a long time! I know he must have loved me because he let Christine ride a long with me on police patrol as part of her leadership Granville class. LOL. My fondest memories of Buddy will always be us singing to God beside each other in the OUMC Choir!
I do send my sympathy to all of you on your loss! Christine, Annette. A.P and Stephanie; know I love you all and I am praying for you!!! May God be with you!!

Mr. Baker was a family friend and a former Chief Judge at West Oxford Elementary Precinct for the Granville County Board of Elections. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and I am so sorry for the loss. He will truly be missed.

When I arrived at OUMC, I met many members. Buddy was one member that always made me feel welcome. I joined the choir and sat next to Buddy on occasion. We had to separate due to our talking during practice. He was one of many people that made me feel welcome in Oxford and I can never begin to thank him for his kindness. To the Baker family I know life has forever changed. The great man could make you smile in an instant or grow serious in a look. I will miss him but look forward to reuniting in God’s choir one day. My prayers are with you the family and I know life will be different. Always remember the good things Buddy did for all of us. If I can do anything for you don’t hesitate to ask.

To Christine and Family,
Our family members have fond memories of Buddy - a Duke football game in the early 1960's and then a special visit when the D-Day Memorial was dedicated and many other times when you visited Mt. Olivet. Buddy was always a friend and we believe that the Lord will keep each of you in the palm of His hand in the days ahead.

I am related to Buddy by way of my marriage to Sam Wood--his 1st cousin. Sam and Buddy grew up together in Oxford; and, although my husband had the last name of "Wood", he was a "Baker" through and through. Buddy and my husband, Sam, were so much alike...full of life, talented, loyal, and someone of whom you would always want in your corner! I still remember Christine and Buddy's visit to our home at the coast which was a memory I will always cherish and hold in high esteem. We'll catch up with you in heaven dear Buddy!

I have fond memories of singing with Buddy in the OUMC Chancel Choir. He was always sharing a laugh, and had such a beautiful voice. My thoughts and prayers are with his sweet wife, Christine, and family.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Baker for very long, but I helped care for him at Duke in his final days and grew to love him like a family member. Such a sweet man along with his beautiful wife. I’m so very sorry to hear of his passing and send my prayers and love to the wonderful Baker family that he loved so very much.

I remember Allan as Buddy Baker as I grew up around him and with his children. I also worked with Allan for those 10 years at ARCADIS. I always remember him as being honest and direct, something I appreciated. Good man and may God bless his family during this trying time

i have fond memories of Buddy and Annette when we did the play Something's Afoot with the Granville Little Theater back in 1978. I always enjoyed hearing him sing with the Vespers Quartet. May you at this time have the peace of God in your hearts and in your lives. The peace that passeth all understanding. I saw him last fall eating at The Family Diner. It was good to see him after all those years.
Sincerely
Rev. Cameron Currin
