PEARCE, Allanson Douglas "Al" It is with sad hearts that the family of Al Pearce announces his passing after a lengthy battle with cancer. Allanson Douglas Pearce "Al", dearly beloved husband of Lynn Pearce, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at the age of 63. Predeceased by his parents Rose and Reginald Pearce, Mr. Pearce is survived by his loving wife, Lynn, three daughters Tabitha (Howard), Melinda (Cameron) and Tammy (Thomas), nine stepchildren Mike, Steve (Jackie), Rick (Wendy), Terry (Cathy), Ron (Tammy), Sandy (Ray), Larry (Leslie), Ray (Carrie), Tim (Annette), twenty-eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Born in Edmonton, Alberta; grew up in Peace River until age of fifteen where he ran away and became a lumberjack. While working as a truck driver he met Lynn and married in 1978 combining and raising their family. Al's love for the beauties of nature moved him and Lynn to Whitehorse in 1987, where he worked as an equipment operator, until 2010 when he retired. His love of the outdoors was apparent to all he met, and he was known for his love of all things ""Yukon"". Al's sense of adventure, humor, honesty and being a family man will always be remembered. He would always go out of his way to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Even in his death, he donated to someone in need by being an organ donor. He was a precious gift to us all and will be missed dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
