His Life

Mr. Allen Buckner, Jr was born on April 23,1943 in Alexander City, Alabama, Tallapoosa County. He departed this life on July 6, 2012 at his home in Streamwood, Illinois.

At an early age he professed Christ as his Savior and united with the Seleeta Missionary Baptist Church.  In recent years he rededicated his life to Christ.

Allen served in the United States Army and the Alabama National Guard.  After 35 years, he retired from Bohler Uddeholrn Steel in Elgin, Illinois.

On September 20, 1976, he married Clementine Phillips and to this union was born one daughter, Sarah Michelle Buckner. Allen lived a full, happy and joyous life.  He always had a smile to share and happiness to spread.

Allen was preceded in death by his loving mother, Ida Mae Hicks;

He leaves to cherish his memory; a devoted wife, Clementine Buckner; one daughter, Sarah Michelle Buckner both of Streamwood, Illinois; one son, Jeffrey Williams of Montgomery, Alabama; one granddaughter, Jo'rie Williams of Hartsell, Alabama; his fathers, Zelma Woods of Gadsden, Alabama and Arthur Hicks of Alexander City, Alabama; three sisters, Dia Anne Williams (Leon), Elaine Bailey (Tommy) both of Alexander City, Alabama; Ruby Woods (Jim) of Chicago, Illinois; five brothers, Mallie J. (Mary) of Sacrernento, California, Billy Hicks (Juliette) of Waukegan, Illinois, Arthur Hicks (Genevieve), Henry Hicks (Rebecca) of Alexander City, Alabama; Roger Hicks (Barbara) of Jackson, Mississippi; a beloved mother-in-law, Mather Phillips of Alexander City, Alabama; seven sisters-in-law, Anne McCreary (Albert) of College Park, Georgia, Dorothy Thomas (Arthur) of Opelika, Alabama, Clara Robinson, Linda Adamson, Shirley Reese (Donnie), Kelsie Maxwell (Michael) all of Alexander City, Alabama; Tara Jackson (Paul, Jr.) of Wetumpka, Alabama; two aunts, Louise Ross of Chicago, Illinois, Zilla Harrell of Alexander City, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
