Mr. Powers was born February 24, 1931 in Ridge Grove, Alabama to the late Lon Powers and the late Goldie Smith Powers, he served in the US Marines from May 1, 1952 until May 1, 1954, he was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church and retired from Tallapoosa River Electric CoOperative after 43 years of service, and was an avid hunter.

Survivors are his wife-Dorothy Tucker Powers, 2 sons-Art (Pam) Powers and Brad Powers, 2 sisters-Dolly Williamson and Doris Lee, brother-Leon (Jean) Powers, grandchildren-Jeremy Powers, Jessica Powers and Payton Powers, great grandchild-Blakely Jenkins.
