A Father's Love
My father wasn’t always right
But he tried the best he could
I wasn’t always the best son
But he always understood
We didn’t always see eye to eye
And he would simply say
Just do the best you can
One day you will understand
When I grew up and moved away
I didn’t always keep in touch
He said you can call me any day
I’m just a phone call away
As we both grew older by the day
We grew closer as father and son
I found out what being a Dad was like
And understood the things he had done
God called him home a few months ago
And the memories are still strong
I thank him for being my father
And for letting me be his son
