Final Farewell

April 14, 2016

The last time i' ve seen my father alive was September 18th 2012 my 29th day in treatment. I remember him lying on his hospital bed with an unexplainable glare from his eyes I have never seen before, so I waved my hands across his face and called "Daddy are you okay" he did not move but smiled at me and said to me..."My Mom and Dad came to see me and told me it was time, don't cry they promised I will be okay" as he smiled.

This was a huge deal for me because in the beginning at the results  of his biopsy...  I witnessed the fear in his eyes as he stared at the ceiling twiddling his fingers nervously :'( and listened to him asking me if he was a good father?  and when he told me all this he was telling the truth only this time he was not scared anymore but seemed relieved.

I used to be afraid of death...until you promised me that you too will come get me when my time comes. I had 2 dreams of him since...the first dream he was lost or stuck or something and in this dream he wrote on a napkin "can you check in on me ever so often, i'm in pain once and awhile" I cryed my eyes out to an elder & I made a food offering, 2 or 3 weeks later, My Dad came to my dream a second time driving a Van, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, muscular, youthful, black hair, nice teeth, no belly, no wrinkles....I leaned on his shoulder and cried dad your so skinny now and he let me cry for a bit then he gave me something in my hand and he left. I never seen him since but I am content just knowing I make my father proud. I miss you so much Daddy, Please guide us along the way as you always did. <3
