Alton Eugene (Gene) Brooks, 71, a native of Granville of County passed away Sunday, May 26th 2013.
He was the son of the late Stanley Washington and Wilma Wilkins Brooks. He retired from Duke Power, was a member of Oak Grove Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Brooks Grinstead and Robin Brooks Lucas, four grandchildren, a brother, Tommy Lee Brooks and former wife Helen B. Stewart. He was preceded in death by a brother George Edward Brooks.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 2:00-3:00PM prior to the funeral service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
