Before Mandy began her coaching career, she was a swimmer for the Middlesex YMCA Barracudas and the Ross County YMCA Marlins.  She probably spent more time on pool deck and in the water as a swimmer than as a coach and lifeguard!

Her favorite stroke was Breaststroke. 

Mandy attended Bishop Flaget in Chillicothe, Ohio for Middle School and Junior High, starting in January 1999.  She graduated in May 2003 and was Valedictorian of her class.

Mandy began attending Middletown High School in August 2004 as a Sophomore after moving from Ohio.  She graduated on June 5, 2007.

Mandy loved the water, whether it was a pool, pond, or the ocean.  Not only did she work around the water, but she loved to swim and play in the water with her family and friends.

The YMCA of Frederick County was a special place for Mandy.  She spent countless hours there as an assistant swim coach, lifeguard, swim instructor, and pool operator.  It was more than a place to work for her; it was where she had made many, many friends.

In April 2013, the staff of the YMCA planted and dedicated a tree in Mandy's memory. 

Everyone who knew Mandy remembers how much she liked to eat out.  Comet Ping Pong in Washington, DC was the first of many Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives that she went to.  The pizza was great!

Mandy loved Socks.  She adopted him while she lived in Ohio and in no time, he was her faithful companion.

Mandy loved the Red Sox and talked every year about seeing a game at Fenway Park.  This wish came true on her 21st birthday.  She took the Fenway Park tour, watched batting practice, then sat atop the Green Monster with her dad enjoying all the action.  Of course, on this special day, the Red Sox won handily over the Baltimore Orioles.

Mandy graduated from Shepherd University in December 2010, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Marketing) and a Minor in Spanish.  She graduated one semester early and was on the Dean's List.  She was very proud of this accomplishment.

She was excited about walking in the graduation ceremony and participated in Commencement on May 14, 2011.

Mandy had already enrolled in the MBA program at Hood College in the Spring 2011 semester.
