Her Life
August 31, 2016

Amanda Wright Young

Our Precious Lovie, surrounded by her family, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 24, 2016, at UAB. Born July 14, 1985. She was a lifelong resident of Grand Bay, Alabama. She is survived by her beloved six year old daughter, Zoey Ameliana Renee; Parents Harvey McAuley & Clemmie Wright Young; sisters Emily (Brian) Swindle, Aimee (Steve) Lindsey, Anna Young (Doug Hayes); nieces & nephews Kayla, Haleigh, Kayden, Jamie, Jena, Hunter, Skyler, Kolby & many more that called her Aunt Cricket; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Friends. Many simply knew her as Amanda Curethecricket Young.

Amanda's immense love for her sweet Zoey was truly evident by seeing them together. Their bond was woven with Heavenly cords & unbreakable. Her every heartbeat was for her dear child. Amanda was an avid reader & writer of short stories, poetry, lyrics. She was writing a novel & she was known for her witty humor. Her smile & laugher contagious. She was kind, generous & loving. Never met a stranger & was a wonderful friend. Her devotion to her Christian Faith was beautiful. She witnessed to all she met with her kindness, love & compassion. She was a member at the First Baptist Church in Grand Bay.

She was diagnosed, in June 2015, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She received her bone marrow transplant on November 11, 2015. She fought a hard and grueling battle. Never asking why me. Her only thoughts were of the children who have this disease. Her faith & grace during this difficult time was a witness & a testimony to all who had the blessing to meet & know her. We were indeed entertained by an Angel unaware. No more pain and no more sorrow. We are grateful to everyone who lifted her up in prayer.

Her last request was for Zoey. Please pray for her beautiful child that God will rain down His love upon her & guide her for the rest of her life. In His Name, the Young Family. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Grand Bay 9/17/16 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, in Amanda's memory, please donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the GA & RA programs at First Baptist Church, 10170 Grand Bay Wilmer Rd. S., Grand Bay, Al. 36541
