Amber Lorine Biggs Heim, 41, was born on November 6, 1979, in Anaheim, California, the youngest of four siblings. She passed from this world on February 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family and friends in San Diego.

As a child, Amber enjoyed playing sports, games, and neighborhood performances with her siblings and friends. Known to her neighbors and family as the "bag lady" of Jeanine Way, she would gather people's mail and belongings and carry them with her.

Animals and pets were one of Amber's true loves. As an adult, she volunteered with Project Wildlife, where she rehabilitated birds and baby raccoons for release into the wild. Amber also adored the outdoors, running, lying on the beach, riding bikes, backpacking and hiking, pretty much anything outside.

Amber attended school in San Diego, where she excelled in math and science. In 2005 she received a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Cellular and Molecular Biology from SDSU.

In 2007 Amber & Adam were married at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite. In 2008 she welcomed her first child, Quetzie, followed by her son, Ansel, in 2010.

Amber began her career in the biotech industry in 2006 at Biosite as a Production Chemist and left as a Senior Chemist in 2016 when she joined MilliporeSigma as a project manager.

In November 2019, Amber was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a Stage 4 brain cancer. She bravely endured surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, all the while maintaining her independence and self-determination.

Amber was always full of life and intensity and fiercely dedicated to her family, friends, work, and life. She was extremely compassionate, loving, and attentive. Amber would say that what defined her were her children. She was determined to show them the world and explain it to them along the way. Amber adored babies and was known to family and friends as the "baby thief." If a baby were nearby, Amber would have scooped them into her arms. Her smile and presence would light up any room, and her laugh would breathe life into all around her.

Amber is survived by her husband, Adam, and children, Quetzie and Ansel. Mother and father, Joel & Christine Biggs. Siblings, Kymberli Biggs, Jennifer & Greg Godfrey, Erik & Melissa Biggs. Nephews and nieces, Jeremy & Kamie Abraham, David, Zac & Hannah Sinks, Gavin, Greydon & Gwenivere Godfrey & Olivia Biggs. Loving and lifelong friends, Michelle Adams, Ryan Myer, and Wendy Maurer.

In lieu of flowers or gifts we welcome you donate to her children's 529 college savings plan.
