With deepest sorrow, we announce that Amber Marie Shuey, age 39 our most beloved daughter, sister, family member and friend passed peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021 while in the hospital. Amber was born in Lake Tahoe, California on March 26, 1981 to her loving parents Daniel and Renee, where she lived until she was two years old. At that point, her family relocated to the Jackson, Michigan area where she lived the majority of her life well into adulthood when our heavenly father decided to take her home. From a very young age Amber developed a passion for art and music. You could always find her with a pad, pencil, or markers doodling while humming and singing when she created so many spectacular pieces. She had the voice of an angel that could move your soul to tears. One of Amber’s favorite activities was spending time on the water and boating as she loved the wind in her hair and the quiet calming peacefulness at sunrise and sunset. She loved all of the holidays, however, Halloween was her favorite. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, telling ghost stories and watching scary movies; precious memories enjoyed by all.Once she became a teenager, she developed an enthusiastic love and curiosity for hair and makeup where you could always see her fiddling with her own and eagerly asking to help others with theirs. She had a twinkle in her eyes, a brilliant smile and an infectious laugh. It seems as though everyone who came into contact with her fell in love with her vivacious energy and developed an instant bond. Amber had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future; all taken away much too soon. The world is a lesser place without her.Those who knew Amber, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.Amber will be missed everyday by her Father, Daniel Shuey, stepmother, Penny Shuey, Mother, Renee Leightner, stepfather, Geno Leightner, sisters, Danielle Fry and Cinnamon McKinney, stepsister, Brandee Prinze, stepbrother, Kiel Smith, nieces, Dakota, Elizabeth and Luna, her loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many great friends. Amber will be forever missed but never forgotten. Until we meet again, may you Rest In Peace.The Day God Took You Home
A million times
I’ve needed you
A million times I’ve cried,
If love alone
Could have saved you
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly;
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a space,
Where no one can ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone
Part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
