Dear Andre and Ava,

There is a Proverb that says, "Say not in grief that they are gone, but give thanks that they were yours.” I pray that the warmest memories of your dad comfort you today and in the days to come. I love you guys, and you are in my prayers.

Dearest Andre and Ava, words cannot express the sadness I feel at the passing of Andre. He was more than an older cousin he was a family icon. His brilliant smile sparkled in his eyes and reached out to whomever he gazed upon. May God continue to comfort you during this time. With prayers and love always.

Mr. McShan had such a bright smile and always had a warm presence. Ava and Andre, praying you and your families will feel the warmth of his spirit with you always.

Dr. McShan, I am so sorry to hear this news. Peace and Blessings to you and your family and may God comfort all of you during this sorrowful time.

Mr. McShan was always kind to me and my mother. Whether it was seeing him during a visit to my childhood churches, Macedonia and Sixth Avenue. Or, picking Ava up from my home or school. He greeted us with a smile. His demeanor and obvious support for Ava was undeniable. May his memory be cherished for forever. Salute to a loving Black father.
