Funeral services for Andrea Tveit of Roseau will be held on Wednesday, May 30th at 11 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 Prayer Service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau; and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
Andrea Jean Tveit passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2012 at LifeCare Medical Center at the age of 31 years.
Andrea was born on October 17, 1980 to Arlan and Nancy (Lindberg) Tveit in Roseau, MN. She grew up there and attended Roseau School where she was active with many organizations. She loved all kinds of sports, keeping stats for her brother’s youth hockey games and was a member of the first co-op girls’ hockey team with Roseau, Crookston and Thief River Falls. She played fastpitch softball for 6 years and considered going to the State Tournament one of her greatest achievements.
She had many fond memories of attending Blue Water Bible Camps and traveled to several ELCA youth national conventions both as a student and as a chaperone.
After graduating from high school in 1999 she went on to college at Bemidji State University where she obtained degrees in Business and Sports Management, graduating in 2004; also working for the team laundry and learning to drive the Zamboni.
Andrea participated in several Habitats for Humanity projects while at Bemidji. Following college she became a member of the NCCC AmeriCorps based out of Charleston, SC for two years performing various service projects throughout the southeast and helped with disaster relief after hurricane Katrina. Andrea overcame her fear of flying and logged many air miles in a few years. She only needed 4 more states on her quest to see all 50!
She had a great love for animals, especially horses and cats and enjoyed helping with projects around the farm and often organized special fun family events. Goose hunting trips with her uncle, brothers and cousins were always an adventure.
Andrea developed a new found interest in cooking and baking and liked to try new recipes. She would often send "cookie care packages" along with crocheted baby blankets to her friends far and wide. Most recently, Andrea was the secretary at Messiah Lutheran Church. She also had been the assistant coach for the Roseau JV softball team this spring.
She was a kind and generous soul that always looked for the good in everyone and shared her love for the Lord with all her heart.
She is survived by her parents, Arlan and Nancy Tveit , her brothers, Marc and Brian; her grandparents, Dwaine and Marjorie Tveit all of Roseau; many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and her cats. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Kenneth and Violet Lindberg.

Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear."
Remembering Andrea on her October B'day. Love and miss you!
Although my hearts aches right now, I have so many memories to remind me of you and keep me going: Singing "Santa Baby" during Xmas, Cops and Robbers on the farm, watching you slowly unwrap all your xmas and being so impressed by your patience, hand written notes on your "big girl" stationary. I love you forever! you will be missed.
Sunday 19 egg omelets, pushin' Jimmie down the mountain, my beautiful birthday cake, Me lost in the woods, glory hands dance. I revered you completely and aspire to be the person you believed I was. I will miss u more than u will ever know, blessed am I to have known such a profoundly generous loving person. U owe me a million hugs:)
I have fond memories of getting a ride on the zamboni, playing broom ball, habitat breakfasts and habitat trips with you. You were always a positive spirit to be around and a great friend. I'm so blessed to have had you in my life even for a short time. Heaven has a new angel, He has big plans for you! -- Gizmo
I heard the news through mutual friends and from now on when I think of the words "mutual friends" you can be sure that I will always think of you. For that sums up your approach to dealing with anyone and everyone. You were a great friend to all. Best Smile & Hardest slapshot in the league - get it to the point. Get it to Tveit.
You were a person that I always looked up to. You had such a great heart, very close to the Lord and always willing to lend a helping hand. We have so many memories that I just don't know where to start. It was a difficult day when I became PMV instead of PMS and then Doc. You did quite well adjusting to the changes.
There are so many memories of you as a young girl going to daycare at my moms house. you were so full of life and everytime I saw you in the later years you would always come up to us with that unforgetable smile to say hi and let me know how you were doing. You will be greatly missed but never forgot! Love ~ torie
It was so great to meet you at BSU. You brought a lot of smiles to many people. You will be missed.
I can hardly say goodbye dear friend. I will never forget our Americorps days. Thank you for all that you taught me. I will never forget your smile and "we can do it" attitude. To your family, I wish you peace. Andrea was an amazing, kind woman. I will keep you in my heart. Silver 4 forever!
There is one thing I know and that is your trust in our Lord! You lived your life for Him and did what was God's will! I will never forget all your stories, all your random acts of kindness for others, your traditional/stubborn ways, walking you home in the State s-ball tourney in '99, your surprise b-day in the dorm,
There are many things that we are going to miss but I hope we can find comfort in knowing you have made it to the "Ultimate Destination" Watch over the family as they need mounds of hope & strength the I am confident the Lord will provide. Love always, missing you! xoxo Kayla p.s. have your goalie pads on when I get there ;) xoxo
I can still remember the moment you fell in love with building a house in Oklahoma City....it was 9:25 am Monday morning. We pounded a few nails into some boards and raised a wall and you were hooked, in 25 minutes. I never called you Andrea, I was so confused as to your real name. But I shall never forget your enthusiasm for life

Kirby Coach Again...
Fast forward ......I've been teaching; taking care of my family; raising my kids; coaching at the youth levels and playing some hockey myself. And just recently, almost 8 years since my last post, I was named the Assistant Girls Hockey Coach of the FIRST EVER Pine City Girls Hockey team. My buddy Bill and I will be leading a group of yound ladies that have grown together through the game of hockey. Not much has changed since 1999 and 2000 - except now, it'll be my own daughter on the ice and I can only hope she has the game sense of Tveit. The hard slapshot - like Tveit. The tenacity. The willingness to learn and the ability to always be a great teammate.... Andrea you are missed. Your smile is with me forever. I can't wait to tell these young Lady Dragon about you!
Sincerely,
Kirby Coach
