Her Life

Andrea Jean Tveit (1980 - 2012)

May 26, 2012

Andrea Jean Tveit passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2012 at LifeCare Medical Center at the age of 31 years.

Andrea was born on October 17, 1980 to Arlan and Nancy (Lindberg) Tveit in Roseau, MN. She grew up there and attended Roseau School where she was active with many organizations. She loved all kinds of sports, keeping stats for her brother’s youth hockey games and was a member of the first co-op girls’ hockey team with Roseau, Crookston and Thief River Falls. She played fastpitch softball for 6 years and considered going to the State Tournament one of her greatest achievements.

She had many fond memories of attending Blue Water Bible Camps and traveled to several ELCA youth national conventions both as a student and as a chaperone.

After graduating from high school in 1999 she went on to college at Bemidji State University where she obtained degrees in Business and Sports Management, graduating in 2004; also working for the team laundry and learning to drive the Zamboni.

Andrea participated in several Habitats for Humanity projects while at Bemidji. Following college she became a member of the NCCC AmeriCorps based out of Charleston, SC for two years performing various service projects throughout the southeast and helped with disaster relief after hurricane Katrina. Andrea overcame her fear of flying and logged many air miles in a few years. She only needed 4 more states on her quest to see all 50!

She had a great love for animals, especially horses and cats and enjoyed helping with projects around the farm and often organized special fun family events. Goose hunting trips with her uncle, brothers and cousins were always an adventure.

Andrea developed a new found interest in cooking and baking and liked to try new recipes. She would often send "cookie care packages" along with crocheted baby blankets to her friends far and wide. Most recently, Andrea was the secretary at Messiah Lutheran Church. She also had been the assistant coach for the Roseau JV softball team this spring.

She was a kind and generous soul that always looked for the good in everyone and shared her love for the Lord with all her heart.

She is survived by her parents, Arlan and Nancy Tveit , her brothers, Marc and Brian; her grandparents, Dwaine and Marjorie Tveit all of Roseau; many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and her cats. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Kenneth and Violet Lindberg.
