His Life
May 27, 2018

Andy grew up in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, where he spent time developing life long relationships with childhood friends and their families. Andy attended Wallingford Elementary School, Strath Haven Middle School and Strath Haven High School, from which he graduated in 2007.

Andy played numerous sports growing up, including soccer, baseball, ice hockey, football and golf. He began playing ice hockey in the 3rd grade and continued throughout high school, including as captain of the varsity ice hockey team. Andy was also captain of the high school's varsity golf team. While in high school, Andy was an honor roll student and received the principal's award for excellence in Academics, Athletics, Arts, Altruism and Activities.

Andy attended Colgate University as a member of the Class of 2011, earning a degree in History. While at Colgate, Andy was a member of the University's Link Staff, volunteer for the Office of Admissions, member of the Senior Class Gift Committee and the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. After graduation, Andy became a member of the Colgate Club of Boston.

Andy met his beautiful wife Alex during their freshman orientation and move into Stillman Hall. They married in September of 2013 in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania and moved to Cambridge after Alex completed her M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Virginia.

Andy spent a great deal of time utilizing his prolific gift with children, including as a tutor at Hamilton Elementary School in Hamilton, NY, as a member of Big Brother Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay in Boston, as a tutor for the Cambridge School Volunteers in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as Head Counselor at Running Brook Day Camp in Waltham, MA, as a tutor and staff member of the after school program at the Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, as well as a summer counselor at BB&N. We are saddened by the generations of young people who will never be able to experience Andy's gifts.

Our memories of Andy are too numerous to recall, but we very much would like to hear yours....please feel free to share them on this site.
