I am so glad my mom got to spend the time she did with her first and only grandchild in the months before she passed. She who had said she never wanted to be a grandma, so quickly changed her mind once James was on the way. She drove from Washington to Colorado in record time after receiving the phone call that he had arrived. I was surprised when she showed up at the hospital early one morning... And I was so happy to see her. After that, whenever she called, (and she called a lot more often), she always wanted to hear all about everything James did, and reminded me to send more pictures. She spoiled him with toys, clothes, and love. She was one proud grandma. I will always wish we had more time together, but I am greatful for these memories. Miss you Mom.
